do you mean the one he gets at the lottery? he manipulates the rng (by setting the date and time very specifically at the beginning of the run) to get a specific trainer ID to get the jackpot, so it's not really a surprise at all to him. if anything, he'd react more strongly to NOT getting it lol

I got pretty good at it with practice, you cross reference the voltorbs and find the 3s and 2s using the point counter. But it's very luck based since sometimes there will be 3 voltorbs but 5 points, meaning there is a '3 and a 2' in one row, but which tile its under is impossible to guess in some situations.

it's manipped. I don't know the excat specifics, but basically, voltoflip runs on a seperate RNG that doesn't advance from most other things in the game or something like that. So basically, the master ball manip at the beginning also sets voltoflip. Now, there are a few things that can advance voltoflip rng iirc. but generally speaking, ideally, voltoflip will be the exact same patterns every single run.

Werster is crazy good at pokemon lol. hes calculated almost every single encounter in his main runs to know exactly their stats and the chances and scenarios in which both the good or bad can happen. he used all this information to optimize the routes in which he uses, sometimes almost entirely from scratch. i dont know any other pokemon speedrunner that does that. tbh I wouldnt be surprised if at this point he actually knows the damage calculation formula so well that he can apply his own and enemy pokes into it without even using a calculator
