Moot great sound captured on all of the live material. Darrell's kit sounds tight, keyboards tight. I had to pay attention when u started bending notes on the mini moog and maintaining that bass line. Good stuff! Thanks again for sharing!

I guess keyboard and band sessions with a teacher who knows his/her stuff would be better. Most piano teacher only teach you how to play classical pieces from paper. They never teach you jazz cadences.

@mootbooxle3 жыл бұрын
thank you for that great compliment 🙏 ! That tone is what I consider my “signature” Minimoog tone, even though it was inspired by the king of Minimoog lead, Jan Hammer. It’s two narrow rectangular waves at 4’ just slightly detuned. I also have the aftertouch on the keys routed to the pitch so I can bend the pitch by adding pressure.

Hey Moot! May I ask what the synth you are using for the bass is?. Got to have it. I am 65 and was one of the first MIDI pro artists around. I saw many great performers switch to MIDI. None of them had anything on you. You play real music with machine assist instead of the other way around, and with top level feel and style. Very refreshing. Those bass lines! You are a timeless musician and are incredibly good! Wow! Been watching your vids all day. Am a fan! Where was this recorded? Ybor maybe?
@mootbooxle3 жыл бұрын
thank you for the comment! This was recorded downtown Fort Myers, Florida! They have street performances like this regularly! The bass is a Korg ARP Odyssey with the mk1-style chassis.

@@mootbooxle Thanks Moot! Are you still giving lessons? I was on a site about your giving lessons. I signed up but got no response.

@@Instramark that’s odd- usually if someone signs up it makes an entry on my calendar, charges you the fee, all that stuff automatically! That’s very strange. I am still giving lessons but my available times are pretty slim these days! Performing almost every night with different bands.
@Instramark3 жыл бұрын
@@mootbooxle Wow, that was fast. Thanks. Actually what I hoped for was just one or two, compensated phone calls or zoom, assisting me in selecting current gear and software as I re-enter the realm of wearing all the hats like you do. I stopped sequencing and synced recording in the mid 90's and have recently made a large study of available paths in current revording tech. Would love some consulting on my current research. Would that work? It would be like a short easy gig for you sharing your brain and a favor to an old but early day midi path finder. Glad you are out gigging!

@@mootbooxle Wonderful music! In the Improv 4 video, there is a little boy or a girl (3-4 yr old maybe) who sits and listens to you guys, it seems as if the mom was puzzled and asking 'what are you doing kiddo?'. Thanks for the music, I discovered your channel today, like 20 min ago. One question, you use the oddy for bass duty while using Mini for the leads. Would it be very different if you flip them? Just curious because Mini is known for its synth bass sound. You could have had two minis so I wonder if you like the oddly for bass. What do you think of Pro-One? Keep up the great work!
