The board retails for $100 on their website which most golf training aids are around. I saw a video on MrShortGames channel where he uses a cutting board to do the same thing. What’s the benefit of the kangaroo board over a much cheaper cutting board or even a piece of plywood you cut yourself?

You are absolutely right, you can just use a wooden board. It would be a lot cheaper and could essentially do the same thing. The only plus side to the down under board is its adjustability when moving between longer and shorter clubs. That being said you could cut yourself different size boards and throw them in the bag.
