Some states in the US have begun doing away with felony murder because Left leaning leadership in those states believe that too many African American criminals have been given long sentences for murders despite not being the one who actually stabbed or shot the victim during a robbery or some other felony. You have situations now where the only person caught was the accomplice to a murder and they protected the killer in court and ended up getting convicted of murder, only to now be released due to changes to felony murder laws, leaving no one in prison paying the price for the murder they helped commit while families of the victims feel they were robbed of any justice for their loved one.
