My handling instructor started us future show puppy owners by holding a squeaky toy or ball or food in her hand while we moved. She had someone on the “down” leg and she would do the “back” leg. It really helped to teach the dogs at a very young age to look forward towards the judge. She gradually faded the toys and then faded food.

You are like a ballerina with him. Both so graceful. Really helpful.

Love this! Do you have any videos on crabbing? My dog’s hind end keeps drifting to the side😩

My Mini American Shepherd is the same way about looking back at me constantly. She’s only 8 months so I’m hoping I can still correct this behavior. She also is uncomfortable with the collar around her neck so she arches her neck up when we go around the ring. I have been trying to get her to lower her head. When I watch her gating around the yard and house naturally she holds her head down and forward like typical for the breed so I know it isn’t structural. I have been told by other breeders and handlers that if I can get her to lower her head she will do really well. Going to definitely try this in hopes it helps her learn what I am asking of her so it only has to be temporary. I’m not sure how well we would do in the PNW with me having to pull her neck down like this 😅 Might try the big treat idea too. On another note, I should probably look into Rally.

I have a 17 month old Hovawart who’s a chronic pacer. Any solutions to correct his gate?

My dog is often distracted by his collar. I’m excited to try swapping to the loop lead and seeing if the metal-metal distraction is eliminated 🤞🤞

Hello there, do you have a video that can help a dog not hang their head on a lead. Or one that helps dogs build confidence in the ring. Treats and toys are not working

I don't understand, are you trying to get the collie trotting with the head held upright, as well as other things?

I have a Cavalier that wants to race around the ring. Would this method help with that? Been using a Resco lead but think a slip collar may be better for this dog.

Hate seeing a Border collie strung up like this. Collies are supposed to carry their heads low and level with minimum lift of the feet.
