big time fisher here, Kinda scared for fishing since they buffed it knowing how they treated horse poop buffs and nerfs. Hope they don't nerf fishing into the ground after blessing us. None the less you will catch me angling in some big tuna with these scrap increases. Also be careful fishing in shallow water with level 10 bait. I have caught worse fish in shallow water with level 10 bait, but that wont affect 99% of fishing spots. Also kind of nervous to spill the secret. But if you want some massive scrap, fish in the bandit camp swamp while waiting on fertilizer to reset. You get catfish, salmon and perch. Use the perch like trout as bait for the catfish and salmon. With these insane fishing buffs you get 65 SCRAP for 2 salmon or catfish, compare that to old prices its 5 less than a shark. Imagine catching nothing but sharks in bandit camp, while selling poop. On vanilla servers with the sell caps on fertilizer this is really the only way to justify standing and selling. The fish make up for lost time. I also bring a camper van into bandit and just store my fish in there and then drive down at the end and sell my massive fish haul.

I play modded servers mostly and I don't think farming and fishing is at all viable in vanilla rust. It's just to easy to wait at a monument and kill someone than spend an hour fishing. I'm a big farmer and fisherman on our modded servers as I like to get shops up and running for anyone looking to skip the grind for a bit of scrap or sulfur. I used to play vanilla rust for a long time but modded servers are really nice. Especially pvpve/pvepvp servers. There's more content and the people are actually nice. Rarely come across asshats. Come to FOXX modded server for the hardest NPCs you'll fight in rust, I guarantee in the firdt hour you're gonna rage quit or you'll say challenge accepted. But be careful, a scientist with a bolt rifle will shoot you squares away and it might take a few deaths to even figure out where they are lol

My biggest gripe with all this is that it makes NO sense that we can not sell back one fish at a time. Nothing like having the ONE Shark and the ONE Salmon in your bag and have to wait because it's raining again, for TWO days straight more often than not in RUST... >:/

I play a farmer on our modded server. First 24 hours of wipe I build a 5 story farm, 20 planters per floor 5th floor mixing tables and berry cloning planters. Second day is farming all upkeep and waiting for berries. Third day is fishing begins because the berries are perfect and growing. Etc. Then I fish. We have the skills plug-in on this server and with the harvesting skills it's great. Especially with a 50% chance to catch an extra fish. So it's really enjoyable to fish and it's really a viable option. I wouldn't fish in vanilla. But if I see someone fishing in bandit or fishing village, I will camp you, I will pull up a chair and I will talk with you until you log or leave. Then I will pull my rod out and fish. Until you get back on. Sounds like a dixk move, but it's vanilla rust. If you wanna enjoy rust, have under thousand hours and wanna learn the game safely. I suggest spending those first thousand hours on modded servers. Most have options for pvp/pve. I found in my first 2 hundred hours playing on a 2xplus server helped ease learning things when not concerned fully about comps/mats/scrap.

Where you at man? miss the vids...us farmers are playing more than ever since the chads left with the recoil change... anyway, i have a question, is the best biome to farm in ice? if you use heats u can always get 100% which heaters wont do in other biomes right?

Personal preference, it's much harder to get started in the snow because you can't pickup natural plants, you can't farm well until everything is setup. I prefer grass rivers for natural food. I've not been enjoying rust as much lately and have been focusing on studies as well as my TFT channel.

My gripes are that we CAN'T also cook some of those fish IN the Fishing Villages or buy even stronger fishing lines. Heck even at a 1-5K Scrap pricetag for better line I'd be fine with that...

no, small trout has a higher bait level than raw fish

They give a chance for orange roughy, which gives more scrap than the average of other areas.. it is a small increase though (more risky area).

yes and I have noticed that fishing above water in deeper waters gets me bigger fish more often. Some fishing villages are kind of inland and yield bad fish drops. I judge it by the deeper color of ocean on the map. I try to get in water as deep as underwater labs and fish of garbage piles.

Yes but you're not actually getting any more trout that way, you're just despairing the small fish by not giving them a slot to go to. However, since they added other types of fish, fish farming with traps is not worth it for scrap.
