I absolutely love the Hyzer flip. I love to watch a flippy neutral or slightly understable disc flip up and level out or even flip over to an anhyzer a little then flex back. It's my favorite throw to watch.

I'm left handed so I appreciate this series. For some reason I can't wrap my head around and "If you're a lefty, just reverse these numbers and directions". Much easier to see it in real life.

Great information. The explanation of the 4 shots is easy to follow and I really appreciate the recap at the end. I would like to see a video on how to select a disc based on the wind direction. Thanks again for sharing this wonderful information with us all. 😎

Dale I appreciate your follow up. Information sharing with tutorials, which Discraft Level Up has provided, gives all of us an opportunity to improve our game no matter what our skill levels are. Gaining those skills to improve our games makes the journey of learning fun. At least for me it does. Thanks again for everyone’s efforts in regards to this point. 😎

Hey Brian, loving these videos. You mention at the end any ideas for future videos for the Level Up series. I think a great topic for a future one would just be "Shot Shaping" and when to throw which shot. Aka....When to take a big hyzer line vs running it straight at the basket, or maybe taking an anhyzer flex line. I think a video on this topic could be super helpful! Looking forward to more videos in the future.

So far I have been enjoying the Level Up series a lot, but this video really knocks it out of the park for me. This is definitely the best of the bunch so far and is the best tutorial DG video I have seen in a very long time. I have heard Paul McBeth talk about how they (the pros) are always throwing specific shots (shot shape) but I never understood (in detail) what he was referring to, but I believe this video might be explaining that (please correct me if I'm wrong). I'd love to see a follow up video for this topic where Brian can a) go more in depth into each of the hyzer throws he talk about here (what different stability discs does for each shot) and b) go into other shot shapes (anhyzer/flex/turnover).

Brian, you're great man. Even as someone who knows what you're talking about, it's still very useful to hear a pro describe it the way you do. Keep it up! I'm guessing a hyzer-flip can kinda into the "push hyzer" category, was surprised you didn't hit on that a bit.

I love the hyzer flip but for some reason I pretty much always used it to try to get to flat or even turn over a bit. Since I've watched this video I've been working on throwing the push hyzer on the course and I've really been enjoying some of the lines. Thanks as always!

Great video as always Brian!!!Being a central Fl. player with mostly wooded courses, the spike hyzer was the least used of the four types until I started looking up off the tee pad and finding holes to hit amongst the canopy’s. Once I started looking up and finding the gaps the daunting tunnel shots were no longer the shot to take. It took a while to get the disc selection and the shots down but then the spike hyzer 9/10 times would end up pin high or at least inside circle 2 leaving a 50 or so foot putt. This completely changed my game and perspective when playing in heavily wooded Fl. Courses.

Spinal tilt is confusing. It's more accurate to say hinge at the hips. You still want to keep your spine straight as you change your trunk angle.

Brian, why did you let your PDGA membership expire at the end of 2021, and haven't renewed? Loving the videos so far!

He's not touring anymore, so no reason to. He's talked about it elsewhere. He just didn't want to play professionally anymore. He's branching out into focusing more on coaching and commentary.

@@Swimmydude11 It’s like $50… supports PDGA. Most people that have a membership aren’t pros.
@Swimmydude11

@Michael S I don't understand what point you're trying to make here? First off, it's $75 for professionals. Amateur membership is $50. The fact that most members are AMs is irrelevant considering he's not one. Secondly, if he isn't competing in tournaments, there's not much value for him to renew. He's a commentator and usually at the tournaments anyway, so the discount on DGN isn't anything for him. Among many other things. Lastly, he does way more than pay a membership to "grow the sport" so that's not really a meaningful reason.

Thx for the video. I would like to know which of the choice of shots angle height to choose in open filed no wind for the goal of maximum distance? Thx in advance for the reply

Probably depends on what angle you're most comfortable throwing at, maybe a flex shot or hyzer flip.

Since I avoid throwing sidearm, the stall hyzer with an understable disc will hold a turn for me if I release with anhyzer?
@subspaceanomaly
@subspaceanomaly Жыл бұрын
sounds like it would go into a roller or throwller if you're throwing an understable disc hard up in the air on an anhyzer release
@subspaceanomaly

best way to find out would be to give it a try!
@Swimmydude11

Apparently stall hyzers imply throwing with a nose up angle. You'll never turn over discs if you throw them nose up, at least not efficiently. Now if you throw an understable disc on a regular anhyzer, depending on the disc and power, would hold the anhyzer all the way to turn and burn/roll.
