Hi, I really love the idea of giving a specific story to make it more interesting and convincing. In my case, I usually feel nervous during speaking test and if I'm gonna give a real short episode of my story, it's really easy for me to get my mind lost in my memory, in other words, giving much detail while describing. So my question is if it is okay that I don't use stories. For example, for this topic, can I say what the person have influenced me and give examples like 'I used to hate reading, but now I love reading and it even becomes a common interest between us'. Can my answers be simple like that?

The problem is you don’t know when the time ends , so you need not put a closing sentence after all... continue to lengthen the talk until the examiner says the time is over... and I don’t think you will get a good band score if you repeat the question because the question doesn’t ask you, anything, well it just gives you a tip..

hi lee. Am watching your video for the first time and found it very helpful. I scored6.5 in speaking I cannot understand why i didn't got 7 bands... What would probably be the cause that examiner gave me 6.5 and not 7

You repeated the same question words in your answer, this could lose you marks in IELTS.
@Ielts-master

Are you referring to the point where I said "well, the question asks how long I've..."? If so, I respectfully disagree. It's pretty clear that I'm not just repeating the words but rather using it as a springboard to continue. There's nowhere in the band descriptors that prohibits that www.ielts.org/-/media/pdfs/speaking-band-descriptors.ashx?la=en

It's helpful, Lee. However, your speak is simple and you didn't use any advance vocabularies and idioms . So how can we get a high band score ?
@Ielts-master
@Ielts-master 6 жыл бұрын
That's part of the point. Fluency and accuracy are likely much more important than rare vocabulary.
