You are so good at the wet on wet watercolor technique. I have followed along with a few of your videos but am wondering what type/brand of paper you use for wet on wet? I do my best to use “just enough” water but a lot of times when I’m making a color gradient it feels like the paint is being scraped back and forth and lines appear. Do you think it might be due to the paper or could it be a technique issue?

Ferdinand Marquee Fuentes - I know, right? I feel like when I was in art school, there was a lot of time wasted because a lot of the techniques I’m finding online never even saw the light of day when I was in school. Of course, I was in school 100 years ago, so there’s that. 😁

Galaxy Floral This is late but if you want the best results, you might need to invest a bit more in better watercolours. Not saying it has to be like $100. It could be like $10 and you would get much better results than buying a $5 one.

Speaking as a professional illustrator for the last 30+ years, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the helpful, clear and concise videos you put out & have gladly subbed... I don't pretend to know everything there is, especially on certain subjects I haven't practiced in decades (watercolours!) but I do know you're never too old or experienced to learn new approaches or techniques. This channel must be a goldmine for those just starting out. So - thank you makoccino.

When I've done negative painting in the past I always draw everything first (for example, all the leaves) and then try to paint from there and normally get really confused about which areas to paint or not. This way is waaaay better! You only need to think about one layer at a time 😁 I'm going to try again!
