@@PVPCat I rarely use PIB or even deadeye for that matter. I started in story mode and never cared for the difference in dead eye (story mode dead eye is way better IMO). More recently I’ve turned off my mini map and HUD. That’s been quite an experience lol

Also there’s an art to using a bow on the horse, when other enemies are on horseback. You get better at it as you figure it out. Also makes me mad that sometimes npcs on the front of wagons are unaffected by the bow. They need to fix that. Lol

This is nit picking. You are are trying to split hairs. It's nice to know more but the information is pointless when you are never in situations where you would benefit from it in the first place. Most people will use improved bow anyway for the looks alone. The differences would have to be vastly different to even consider a change so making a whole 8 minute video on it...i don't see the point. The difference is literally unnoticable in practical games.

The headshot difference with a regular bow vs enhanced bow, while fighting mid-range slippery players is valuable in how I played RDO… So is the knowledge of the reduced range for the Enhanced bow while on a horse. So if it’s not useful to you, remember it can be for others

@@stumarch750 Yes, but the question is : how many others? It's bismal to say the least. I don't know a single player who fights in those situations with those weapons all the time or even half the time and i've gone through entire communities of pvp/pve peoples. It just doesn't happen often. On top of that, i've played RDO pretty much since launch and i keep with the community NOW. What player tend to do is just run away and pick snipers rather than bows anyway. So in most cases you won't even see a situation where a regular bow would be worth it and this is putting cheaters, kronus maxers and lag switchers aside and if we're fair they're EVERYWHERE right now. The fact is there ARE just better options all across the board so the use of a standard bow in a very specific situation very tiny nit pick is next to worthless.

@@Dreamer23245 I dunno… I had a 700 level player bring a standard bow into a shootout at Shady Bell as a way to take out myself and a friend who both ran slippery. I switched to paint as a counter half way through and the player with the bow actually moved to SNS. So it does happen, just many players aren’t aware enough of cards, weapons and now it effects them and others.

My character is Native American, I adore the bow in Rdro, I use it even though I use free-aim in gameplay. I suck at it but I hope to master it someday. My biggest issue is if I should lead the target or treat the arrow like a bullet- it seems to function weird

I recon the improved bow is better with PIB, and regular bow works well with slippery in medium distance combat. Overall a PIB fighter is gonna have the advantage in a bow battle. However if you get better at regular bow with slippery, you can indeed surprise a few people. You have a higher risk of missing shots, but you can shoot faster since you don't spend time on painting the target. The best feeling is to get that fast head shot with a regular arrow, before the opposition manages to paint you with a dynamite arrow.

I like to clear hideouts and poachers and ambush with improved bow, but one thing I never use it for is against revenue agent's road blocks. I swear those guys are like the Pinkertons in great plains. they are accurate and they do much more damage. Always fun tho

Yep, same here! Another place I use for bow practice is protect the traveler's campsite. Since the NPCs are on the move, using the moving targets greatly improved my bow skills. The first time I tried it, both travelers were killed. Now I can defend the camp quite easily! I think there are a couple of aspects of PVP you overlooked and those are non PIB usage and "movement + collision", let me explain. Sure, when you are using PIB in Free Roam you have basically an RPG that is almost impossible to avoid however if you are running Slippery then you rely solely on lock on and timing and in my experience you got a shorter window when using improved arrows at medium distance. What do I mean by this? Sure, if you are in close proximity it doesn't really matter if you don't actually hit someone in the body with the Dyno arrow, chances are you will be killed even if you hit the floor next to the target however at medium and specially at long distances you actually need to hit the body of your opponent specially if your opponent has golden cores + he is overweight + tonics. This is most noticeable (even with PIB at long distances) when someone jumps just before the impact of the dyno arrow, with an improved bow at medium distances the chances of getting a kill if you don't get a direct hit are lower than when using a normal bow (at long distances it doesn't really makes a difference bc you ain't getting a body shot with a normal bow). This leads me to the next point (which is really important in Free Roam events), collision with in game structures. During Railroad Baron it is not uncommon that someone starts using Dyno Arrows to kick you out of the train however I've noticed that when someone uses the improved one and tries to hit you but instead hits the "fence" in the wagons or a box nearby (and this happens quite often due to the movement of the train) you will most likely be thrown out of the train but will survive, specially with golden cores, however when getting hit by a dyno arrow with regular bow you'll either be killed or get much more damage from the hit. I think this is overcome by using PIB at short distances but this difference is much more notorious at medium distance. Anyhow great video and I think both bows are great PvP weapons for different situations.

The one question that has always been in my mind but never bothered to test it out myself, in terms of hunting very large animals (elk, moose, buffalo, grizzly bear...etc) can the regular Bow make one hit kills to the head with regular arrows whereas the Improved Bow can't? Or do I always have to resort to poison arrows regardless?

From what I remember bow don't have enough dmg to oneshot big animals even with ability cards. Maybe will retest it

There’s a grappling one, like it does with guns and headshots, there’s one from in front and a stealth from behind, then the kick one, and I think there’s a second kick one where like it’s from under the jaw, but that’s just because they were already tripped up so to speak, idk. Anyway, love the bow it’s great. And the poison arrows are fun.

You can choose different recipe variations when cooking! With a keyboard, you can use your left and right arrow keys when selecting a recipe to choose a different variation. :) I think you can choose from mint, thyme, or oregano. I'm not sure what you would do with a controller though. Maybe hovering over a recipe and moving left or right with your joystick? I hope this is helpful in some way!

I was under the impression that the improved bow did less damage to players and that's true. So, the regular bow is better. Although the improved bow has a better range. The range property of the regular bow is good. Also, the damage from this bow will be more decisive and more useful in most cases.
