Hi.. try to improve this knot to another level by using bimini.. two or three tags to tie it by using your method.. I think it will be more stronger by searching the exact number of wraps each time when using different braid's diameter.. against different floro or mono line.. more digging you have the path.. I mean the winner.. take care..

@@elmouradiabdellah9426 Thanks for the in depth response, I was actually looking into this today using the front end with maybe something different on the back. I was testing the Uni on 30lb Braid to 30Lb Mono today and it was not that great to be honest, to much cutting up on the crossing lines within the braid in the Uni, I then carried on testing this GT variant, I did about 6 knots and the average strength was 4 to 6lbs more than the highest UNI UNI result, This line class was slightly different as you say it varies, it settled down nicely with 4 wraps over Figure of eight and 4 wraps on UNI. Heat ans preservation especially on thinner mono lines will be key so lots of Saliva. Tightlines and thx for sharing. Kind words by the way.....

I know this knot has a massive following so I will one day try and review it and make the fairest take down I can on it. I do like the FG for lure fishing, its great. Hi.. I'm back.. I have tried it using floro 60 lb and braid 30 lb.. always they break in the end of the bimini loup.. the best combination is 3 wraps in the Middle of figurate8 and 7 wraps in the uni.. (all double using 2 strings) of the bimini nice looking.. very strong.. means more than 30lb of the braid.. so.. your knot is fenomenal.. 👍 @+

Morning Tim, I am always so bowled over by some of the comments from complete strangers, it’s a funny thing, you all get to know me with my weird quirks and funny mannerisms. But I only get to meet a brief or passing comment or kind words, appreciate the feedback. This knot really does fly tho. There is one of my subscribers using it out in Morocco, he uses the Bimini twist on to the improved GT knot, and sais the Bimini breaks every single time. I am yet to verify and test all this but it is very encouraging for line to line connections which really is the weak link in our fishing setup. Tightlines and Thank you.

The only knots I use now are the Toit knot you taught, the double palomer knot, and the modified GT knot you taught (for connecting monofluoride to braided I do 5 wraps around the doubled figure-8 knot and then a seven wrap uni to finish… for connecting braided to more braided I do four wraps around the double figure-8 knot and then an eight wrap uni to finish.) never lost a lure of fish or anything for that matter! Thanks again! I look forward to getting the toit scissors on y’all’s website soon when I get my next paycheck because I don’t have anything to cut braided line specifically and that’s pretty much exclusively what I use

@@toitfishing In most parts of Europe we choose lines mostly by diameter. If you can find the best knot to join 0,20 mm mono lines together or 0,18 mm, you'd be a hero! Many of us in beach fishing use the uni to uni or the blood knot at the moment but no one really knows whats the best knot
@toitfishing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ricardo, in my WSFK videos the lightest I test is 10lb at the moment, all these results are in my videos, do take a look, there will be 3 line categories also, which you probably aware of. 0.2mm is roughly 7lb line depending on the manufacturer, so I would maybe refer to the 10lb results. Hope that helps. I have been asked by a lot of people to test lighter lines which I can do but will need a lighter loadcell, maybe 100N loadcell, if I use my current load cell I won’t get an accurate reading as below 10lbs there my be a 2-5% error margin creap in. Thightlines, Bass fishing is great sport.

I would stick with the Blood knot for now it certainly outperformed on the 2 main line to line categories. Tightlines. Hi Joe, glad you like it. I have not had the time to put this knot thru it’s paces but I do think the concept of slowing or easing the braid loading over the mono or fluoro knot has got a lot of potential. I am just not convinced the Uni Knot is the best quick knot on the back end. I hope I do get more time to develop this knot as it a fairly fresh concept and as you say it does already beat some great knots on the market. Tightlines, thx for testing this and appreciate the feedback.

Very nice video. I'm trying to find a quick knot to tie braid to flouro and I like the GT as it is pretty quick and easy. I've just been trying your new method but my lines are pretty small in comparison, 20 lb braid onto 8 lb Fluoro and the issue I'm having is that the braid does not want to pull through the wrapped figure 8 of the flouro before the line snaps because I have to pull so hard. I was able to be successful when I went up to 10 lb flouro but the braid still didn't want to pull through so I had to make sure the figure 8 wasn't cinched down much before starting the pull between the braid and fluoro to bring the uni and figure 8 together. Also I find it very difficult to tie the FG knot with such light lines so if you have any suggestions on that one I'd really like to know your thoughts. I fish fresh water only so I don't use really heavy leaders so 15 or 20 lbs would be probably on the higher end with 10 lbs being used the most and I am finding it difficult to tie most knots with thinner line.
@toitfishing3 жыл бұрын
Evening Scott.... Man I class those as micro lines, you've seen how big my hands are. Just Kidding. Seriously tho, the lightest lines I currently test it 10lb Braid to 10lb Fluoro. I have only tested 3 line to line connections thus far but currently the Albright on the closest line to line weights match for yours is 82% and the Blood Knot is 69% followed by a close third on the Surgeons knot at 68%. So I would maybe look at the cinching method I showed on the Albright WSFK video. This Improved GT is going to be a great knot but one of the downsides will be heat, so this will effect very light lines. Also on lighter lines(Micro) one of the best tips I can offer is when you draw the knot closed and cinch up on small knots try and do it in your mouth with extra saliva to keep the heat to a minimal especially on monofilament. Tightlines and let me know how you get on with that Albright, I have also showed the exact amount of wraps.
@MrScubby653 жыл бұрын
@@toitfishing My first attempt at the Albright was almost good but I didn't watch the video number 12 before trying to tighten it up so the flouro began to pull through a bit but I stopped in time to watch the video and really pull on all the lines to tighten in up which worked great however the lines really put a hurt on my fingers. Where did you get the soft pulling bars that you use in your video to wrap the lines to pull? I know I can simply use a couple of small dowel rods but the ones you have look like they were meant for the job.
@toitfishing3 жыл бұрын
@@MrScubby65 Hi Scott, These will transform your life these bars, they are fairly simple to make, just dont tell the wife you are using her hairdryer. If you go on Ebay buy some rod handle shrink wrap tubing, 22mm I suggest or nearest size to that, then get a length of 15mm Copper pipe from your local plumbing shop, also ask them to cut 2 pieces to 6" long for you and keep the rest to give to your mates, then get that hairdryer and shrink about a 7" length on and trim then ends after with a stanley knife. It will transform your knot tying. Tight lines

This is one of the coolest sites on youtube. i really want to know how this knot is with smaller braids like, 25lb. up to 65lb. braid with smaller learders from 10lb. mono up to 25lb. mono along with how many wraps of each. thank you!!!
@toitfishing2 жыл бұрын
Morning Jeff, thank you so much. Made my day. Yes definitely will be testing this not. Hopefully get onto this relatively soon. If you are testing it yourself I would end up tying it the same as the “Actual” GT knot then just add extra wraps over the double figure of eight. From what I have tested the knot always now fails at the Bimini twist which means it’s really really strong. Tightlines

@@toitfishing Hello Warren, I hope you are doing well!!! Have you been able to test any of the other lines, I usually use a heaver braid and a smaller leader such as 65lb. braid and a 25lb. leader, have you tested any of the combinations in these line sizes?
@carlosm97193 жыл бұрын
That is a fat knot, I’ve got bad hands so fg is a bit hard, sc knot is easier, and at the beach just the double surgeons for quickness sake. I had tried the original GT and didn’t like it, this one is better just the size might be bothersome. I hope you get to test the FG, SC, and double K knots. As always good stuff sir.
@toitfishing3 жыл бұрын
🤣😂, I like FG if I am getting ready for trip previous day, if I got time on beach or boat also. If not, which is most time, it’s either GT Knot, Slim beauty or certain live lining application the Albright. I will make a point of reviewing diameters differences between the original and this variant but it’s definitely much thinner profile. I tend to use 100lb braid/mono/fluoro for testing knots and photographing knots so it’s slightly distracting sometimes when you see the size up close in the videos, if you do decide to use it, let me know how you get on. Tightlines and appreciate the feedback.
