EDIT: After weeks of having the auto foam on my car, I think the increased Comfort, NVH reduction and improved ride quality is definitely the highlight of doing this treatment. Then handling while it had an improvement (really nice improvement), it wasn't massive as the car was already so stiff to start with. I think older cars or cars with softer chassis would feel this more. Still definitely would recommend Autofoam. 100% Thanks for watching guys. If you enjoyed it, I would really appreciate if you can give me a Thumbs Up / Like. It makes doing all the video editing evermore worthwhile.

Thomas, thank you for sharing the foaming installation proces for your car did you notice a significant reduction of road noise after you had the foaming done?
@ThomasYap Жыл бұрын
The sharp “knocks” are less noticeable. To reduce road noise, the used acoustic foams on the door panels, boot area and a pillar. This made a significant difference in the road noise

Hi Thomas, any idea why car manufacturers don't provide foamed chasis as standard?
@ThomasYap Жыл бұрын
Not sure dude.

Will the foam absorb and retain water which causes rust.
@ThomasYap Жыл бұрын
based on the demo which I didnt add on this video due to poor video quality and time concern, the foam rejects water. can ask KL auto for more info about this. :)

Not much on the sound proofing part... On floor bed and/or door panels?
@ThomasYap Жыл бұрын
On the wheel arches and floor bed.

My concerns involve: 1. how auto foaming changes the car's crumple zones performance in a crash scenario 2. Whether the moisture now trapped inside the chassis may give rise to rust issues over the longer term
@ThomasYap Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions, I'll forward them to the owner. For no.2 it resists water, I didn't show the demonstration to keep the video length short. The foam hardens up so it becomes like a "lid" to a bottle.

@@ThomasYap Yes! Rolls-Royce uses a trillion soundproofing material to make their cars so quiet you cannot even hear a massive bomb explosion from outside!

why dont car manufacturers do it from factory if it makes the car much better with very little additional cost?
@klauto1482 Жыл бұрын
They do. BMW pioneered Foam treatment in 1996 with the E39 5 series. Eversince, all BMWs are spot treated. Honda were the first Jap manufacturer on the FD in 2006. These mass market cars are "Spot" treated at certain critical areas ie B pillars/rocker panel junction. Mercedes started just a few years with the A class. However, premium cars like Aston Martin do it more comprehensively, ie full Rocker panel( side sills) like what we do. That's what you get when you pay more.

Sorry I can't answer this question. It's a good one though.
@rickmckee8270 Жыл бұрын
@@ThomasYapI would speculate that the additional cost of foaming each car over the production run adds up to a significant pile of money over the production run.
