This might be one of the best lessons you ever posted, as it highlights the importance of not only knowing your vocabulary but also in which context(s) you can use it. It's the latter part that I find myself struggling with, and this video gave me some great insights. So thank you :)

Excellent lesson! Not only did Marcel improvise/compose a tasty solo, he breaks down his method measure by measure so you can see how the pieces fit together. An outstanding teacher.

Awesome breakdown. The way you demonstrate Carter style starting with second guitar part is brilliant!

Please post this lesson on the site. You’ve shared so much of your knowledge. I’d like to print this so I could analyze it more.

This was my favorite video yet. I’m stuck on my leads/breaks/interpretations sounding too “flat”, and this really helped thinking through going the next step to add some ornation.

Sometimes i really wish you could push the play button on GP5 over what you have tabbed down, specially when you make two guitars. Thanks for your video today :D

Amazing lesson! It is so helpful to see your process to go from the melody to an bluegrass ornamented improv in the key of G. Thanks for using a bluegrass jam standard. A similar video for a jam standard in C or D would be great. THX!

This is a really amazing lesson Marcel. This is something I've not understood how to do at all but you really made it seem pretty easy.
@alan4sure Жыл бұрын
A year later, has it made it easy?
@JoshSnodgrass Жыл бұрын
@@alan4sure Ha, ha, no. I gave up on bluegrass flatpicking. I have been focused on fingerstyle guitar so I haven't had time to work on this. It's too bad, I'd love to learn it.

@@JoshSnodgrass good for ya. I'm better at making 1 pick go fast than having fingers and thumb all moving! Lol
@JoshSnodgrass Жыл бұрын
@@alan4sure Yeah, that totally makes sense. It's hard to play a lot of styles well on guitar. That's what amazes me about Tommy Emmanuel. He can flatpick so well but also he tears it down on fingerstyle!

i normally hate when content creators push certain products but the strum machine seems like an awesome tool to practice music, i dont know if you got a trial from guitar pro but they should really be paying you too because i like it too

Amazing work like always. Pleeeeaaassssseeee take a look at billy strings jingle Bell Rock acustic version, your streams are like 1am for me I think, so I keep missing them 😤. Maybe it could be done like your dust in a baggie video explaining certain phrases intro/break, how the melody is used in both.

My problem with bluegrass is the rhythm guitar is just so fucking boring .. I went to a jam all fiddle tunes and they wanted me to play G D C all night for 4 hours .. most boring thing I have ever done in my life
