The song is actually about grief, and killing gods by refusing to believe anymore ; welcome to PWD, a fantastic band. My favorite song is Idols and anchors but frankly I like pretty much everything. Saw them live 3 times... just insane

The whole album is laced with pain. It was basically wirtten around the time that Tom Searle (Architects founder/guitarist and close friend of the band), Winston's dog, plus a family member of PWD all died of cancer within a short period of time. These lyrics are literally trying to find 'a place, a place to place the blame'. Literally a way to get a reason for all the tragedy. It's an incredible album (albeit different from previous styles). Personally, The Void, I Hope You Rot, Prey and Shadow Boxing are good solid tracks, but for the raw emotion, Chronos is a must from this album. The riffing and the outro and the pain they evoke is incredible.

Wishing Wells' is the compression of grief into song,” says McCall. “It's attempting to place blame when there is none, seeking answers where there is only emptiness, and ultimately trying to find some kind of reason and meaning to justify the ultimate loss we will all be faced with in life.
