SubhanAllah, I also experienced severe anxiety in the past that turned my life into a living Hell. I tried to do yoga, change diet, meditate etc but that didn't take it away, only alleviate it to an extent. I remember I went to the emergencies once because of one such episode, but they only gave me medication to calm me down. SubhanAllah, when I turned to Allah, and sincerely asked for Shifaa, wallahi same thing as brother Imran, I felt so much peace and happiness that I've never felt in my life. Alhamdulilah, the more I looked into Islam and got closer to Him, the more my peace increased. Islam is truly the greatest blessing ever, and Alhamdulilah that Allah has guided us to it. "And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss." Qur'an (17:82)

It's funny. I have started reading hamza's divine reality and I'm at the part where he discussed consciousness and the subjective part of it where he says that it's scientifically impossible to explain how someone experiences something with their own consciousness. How someone experiences a strawberry is different for everyone. However, this existential crisis, feeling at the abyss, looking for an answer etc is very similar for every human being. I can easily say that i felt exactly how he felt. I also cried on a specific verse from the Kur'an. This kind of shared experience is another proof for the human fitrah in my opinion.

The intellectual or rational aspect may help us in knowing the truth or justifying our belief but peace and tranquility van only come from spirituality. Nothing beats having a connection with, and attaining closeness to, God. Verily in the remembrance of ALLAAH do hearts find peace.
