Claire Depré, Head of the Road Safety Unit, DG MOVE at the European Commission, shows the accident figures for Europe's roads as a starting point for her presentation. These figures, although they fell by 10% between 2021 and 2022, have increased in the case of motorcyclists.
Depré stresses the importance of working on guidelines at European level that are subsequently implemented by member states to improve road safety for motorcyclists by focusing on road structure and vehicle safety.
