The first story: she went back and forth with this man for too long. I would've called the police the second I saw him at my back door. She also couldve blocked the door with the dresser when she heard him banging and jumped out window. Most important, get a gun if you are able to do so. Im not a gun enthusiast, but shit like that makes me understand why more and more people want to take arms. This would've been a different story if she had a gun.

In the 3rd story, I think the reason the killers didn't off the mother was that they'd have another dead body and mess to clean up which would defeat the purpose of hiring her in the first place. She could have called the police as soon as she got back and told them everything but I guess she choose to keep working with these guys because they paid her so well.
