When you consider all those vehicles were driven, brand new, off a dealers forecourt. They were expensive possessions. The Bedfords and Transits were workhorses. The Escorts were everyday transport and the Jags their owners pride and joy. The people stories and memories that went with those vehicles would fill lifetimes. Most of the people who owned the cars when new will not be around anymore; N reg is 1974 / 75 - 1970s. If you were driving a car in the 1970s you are going to be at least in your 70s now. So the wrecks of the cars may represent the last extent possessions of some of those people who are no longer with us; ghosts of the past almost. Keep up the good work recording those car graveyards - it’s like a tiny fragment of people long gone will live on in video. I shall admit I can remember the streets of the 1980s - walking to school - Fords and Datsuns were the most common cars. This yard is like an early 1980s time warp. And the cars were starting to rust back then.

The green nissan is actually a Datsun ,known as a violet in the UK. In Ireland they were badged as a 140j or 160j if it had a 1.6 engine. The 160j triple s coupe was the one to have if you can/could find one.

Thanks for your super exciting video! It's a horror for oldtimer friends to see something like that, but it's also super interesting! At 23.00 minutes, it's an Escort MK2 Estate (in Germany Escort MK2 Turnier). The MK1 and MK2 Estate are almost identical, just a different front end and dashboard, the rest is pretty much identical. Thank you for your nice video! Regards Klaus from Düsseldorf

Grest explore, So much to comment on: Avenger, a 3 door Chevette orOpel Kadet, an early Opel Ascona beside that badly Jag, the green Datsun 140 orc160j ( later called Nissan) beside the disintegrated very early Transits, the yellow Mk2 escort GL 2door( handles black on pop with plastic seats, chrome handles, cloth seats on L/GL , Sports wheels in a 75 indicate GL ). Was that an orion in the middle of all those brambles? The wheels on the red MkIII estate were from an earlier era could be from 70s escorts, Capris , Cortinas. Yep a damn shame, it doesn't look too bad rust wise. Looked like a brown escort van that you couldn't get too. A hell of a lot of very rare cars.

I was going to recommend the first location but thought it was already moved! I've been here a few years ago. The owner used to own the scrappy round the corner and for ehstever reason he got up and left. Leaving the cars in this state. People were living upstairs in the house at some point too

I was just thinking to myself that you know your cars better these days then you looked at the tail light and was wondering if it was a Datsun or Nissan and talked about not knowing all your cars. Well I just wanted to say well done on what you do know. Spot on with the Mini, Rover and Transit parts. You always ask us to let you know if you are unsure anyway. Such a shame to see all those dead vehicles. They must have been left there for 40 years to disintegrate. I saw an Austin Princess there also. I expect a block of flats will be going up there shortly. Pleased you got to record it before it's all gone. When the sirens came along I thought you must be a wanted man but they carried on. Surely not again so soon ! Mind you, it's great fun from here watching on KZbin isn't it?

Don't apologize for not knowing all the cars. The green saloon you were matching the tail lights to is indeed a Datsun. A 140J (1.4 litre) or a 160J (1.6 litre). I know this because I'm old enough to remember them coming on the market, and my folks had one in that very colour for eight years. You'll learn the older stuff as you go along. No one knows every car, no matter how enthusiastic they are. We can watch from the comfort of homes, while you take the risks with police, rusty metal, and dangerous under growth. The whole trespass thing is a contentious issue, at least your footage proves you have no bad intent. Thanks for this, I'd say you you looked at more stuff than Johnny

A sad sight indeed some of those must be from the early 80’s, so well past their useful life even for parts now, l did have a neighbour that had a gold Avenger in the late 90’s. The saying on the wall in the house is not complete though, “ whats lost can always be found, what is stolen can always be taken back” Just thought of a good T shirt design, “Stokze the crim explores” well just an idea. Hope you got back in time for the school run.
