Sierra P100 was only one wheelbase. The Cortina P100 was only one wheelbase for the UK market but the South African model it was based offered two wheelbases. You’ll see imported Cortina swb’s in this country but it wasn’t standard for the UK market. 👍

True on the stop "pinking" higher octane allows a greater amount of timing advance and is also E5 as opposed to E10 so lessens the potential ethanol issues.

Love the Astras. Had a few dating back to the Mk2. Yes. E10 fuel will gradually ruin seals plastics metals on petrol cars.Told that by my mechanic. Only use E5 while they have it.

He's 100% correct on the high octane. I put it in all my cars. Used to have a V6 Galant which 'pinked' when using anything less. And I currently put it in my crappy 08 Clio knockabout. It's something to do with the rubbers hoses perishing if sat idle on E5. Cars from 09 onwards aren't affected. I also feel E10 gets a few more MPG

Was freight liner a division Austin that built the Sherpa, I knew it was a Sherpa from first seeing it . I'm a vauxhall guy through and through look after them they tend to look after you estates are not as common and some of their engines are pretty good, I'm a MK4 coupe turbo owner

100% correct on the fuel, the normal fuel isn’t good for the older cars as it contains things that overtime damages it. The high octane fuel is what should go in if you love your car as a conclusion. It’s just far superior.

As far as I understand It’s the ethanol that’s the problem. You want E5 (5% ethanol) rather than E10 (10% ethanol.

You do seem to find some gems on your channel Stokze, the van you couldn’t remember the name of was it LDV? The Scimitar’s have the Ford Essex 3L V6 a great engine, years ago l put one in a Morris Ital van for a laugh l used to piss all over the boy racers with it. A shame you didn’t get to uncover one of those Humbers they are a lovely car, when we made real cars! And ffs put some oil on that bloody door hinge.

hi stu. E 10 is 20% fired corn alcohol. It also touches gasoline snakes on the rubber and start leaking and splashed gasoline on your exhaust ... consequently fire. You can look somewhere on the internet whether you can drive your car on E10 .

Hi stokes.high octane.i had an xj6 and was told the normal petrol was linked to rusting parts of the engine.so I always put in high octane.

Pinking is premature detonation, high octane fuel times detonation better stops pinking, also high octane fuel stays ok if left for long periods.
