MOVING VLOGS day 3!! Unpacking & setting up my whole kitchen!!

DAY 3 OF MOVING INTO MY NEW HOUSE!! Now that I moved in, I wanted to get my kitchen all set up (despite it not being 100% finished lol it's fine)! I organized some of my drawers, pantry, etc! I also unpacked some of my bags w/clothes! Then I spent some time at the pool enjoying a chill afternoon :)

I once used paid movers and they put onions from the kitchen in a box with the bed linen. I never paid for movers again, but Tara, you could always get a job with them if things don’t pan out! 😂😍

I think adding a tall acrylic table under your tv in your room would be so cute and then putting like little poofs underneath it would be great and add so much texture without taking up so much space right there!

Where I live, you can get a guest package of all different sizes of felt house shoes. Actually, I think they sell them in IKEA. It could be a comfy thing to have by your entrance for the rainy days where you want to protect your pretty floors but don’t necessarily want your guests walking around in their socks

I highly highly recommend cabinet liners... to prevent damage from wet things or scratches :) plus... it could be a design element with a fun print when you open things up!

especially for cabinets where you put sauces and oils etc. You don't want stains on the wood cabinets. They have clear ones if you want to maintain the aesthetic of the wood grain.

it’s actually insanely common for people to hire movers. a lot of people have work and school and families, and there is simply not enough time to move all their things on their own. i love tara too but you’ve got to realize that everyone’s circumstance is different. and tara is really privileged in being able to have a month where she can pay to be in both houses and have available parents/family to always help her whenever she needs it

Yay best way to start the day!! Love how everything is coming together. Your bedroom is so light and peaceful! A small, compact hallway table in a light wood would really fit that space under your TV well, you could put pretty decor and candles. I'm thinking an open style table, with a small open shelf on the bottom instead of cabinets or drawers, for more decor and so it's not too chunky as you don't want it to compete with the bathroom cabinets if you go for a similar wood tone. Definitely need a big fluffy rug for the space and I agree, new nightstands and lamps for sure! I love interior design and decor so am soooo excited for your upcoming vlogs!

Tara, Nothing has to be perfectly organized during your early move in days. You have to allow yourself to actually “live” in the space and strategize what works for you. Love your new home Tara .....looks amazing. Surprised you didn't buy the egg chair from the previous vlog .....would be incredible in your new garden for enjoying the sun and reading/drinking coffee. Definitely need drawer and cabinet liners for your kitchen and bathroom cabinets and loads of plastic organisers/drawer separators for kitchen/fridge/bathrooms and closets. Will keep all your things protected and organised. A few days of really getting stuck into it will make a world of difference as you have loads of room for a place for everything and everything in its place xx 😍🥰

Over the many years of home ownership I’ve lived in a number of homes. With each move I’ve taken the items from the “junk” drawer, thrown them in a box and then dumped them out into a drawer in the new house. Never an attempt to clean, sort or get rid of things that I never use! It’s my system, don’t judge me, lol!

Spice drawer help! Take the yellow plastic thing off. One side of the shelf rests on the metal pegs and the other side of the shelf actually has holes on the side the pegs slide into. Also, to move the pegs I had to get pliers to take them out and a hammer to put them in the new spots. It’s a bit of a pain but they do adjust!

A suggestion for what to put under your TV in your bedroom. Maybe a console table with drawers? You can display your perfume and use the drawers for little jewelry. Since it's not too big it won't feel cluttered and still gives you room to walk. Just a suggestion. =)
