There are hardly 2018 vehicles in showrooms at the moment, and when they are there, they are expensive because they attracted higher taxes. Most of what will be on sale till March-April are 2017 vehicles imported towards the end of this year. 2017 vehicles will be registrable so along the carrier ships will have docked by 31st Dec Midnight. Us, car dealers, target cars that are exactly 8 years old to reduce the tax cost. In January next year, the only cars that will be 8 year old are the ones manufactured in January 2018. Every importer will be looking for such vehicles, which will definitely push the prices up. Options for 8 year old cars will increase towards April, which is when prices will stabilize, all other factors held constant.

According to kenya rules,a car that is to be imported should be 8 years old or newer form the year of manufacture.....that means ukibuy a car of 2018 model,it means its already 8 years feom the time it was manufactured....so you will work with it for 4 years only and dicard it
