Yeah but it is annAsian movie, more specifically a Chinese one. "Fat" or "plump" body types (really anything over a US 6 or 7 is comsidered fat. And by their standards becoming skinny is the way you become valuable and wanted.

Original actress was better. Also fat= unworthy/unlovable it played out. A relationship based mostly on looks is one that will easily break.
