The woman in the pickup truck at the end of the movie is actress Lauren-Marie Taylor. She plays Vickie in Friday the 13th part 2 .

My interpretation was different just a little. When the strange woman asked what happend to her. She said she was attacked by an animal. When the strange lady tells the story about the bear, she claims some animals kills for no reason. In Johnny's case he kills in pursuit of an object that was sentimental to him. He even paused for a moment to reminisce how he loved toys, when he saw the car keys. I believe she lived because he got his necklace...good movie.

He stopped killing after Chris left the necklace. Once he reclaimed it he stops killing. This goes against everything the woman talks about. She claims animals kill for no reason sometimes until they are satisfied. Johnny was just mad someone took his locket which meant a lot to him (from his father). One major point I noticed is as soon as the locket is taken from Johnny’s grave site, the whole movie is in Johnny’s perspective. After the girl leaves the locket and runs away, the POV is of the girl. That means the killing has stopped and Johnny returned to sleep

I enjoyed the film. 2 things: I think the ranger was wrong. Johnny stopped because he got the locket back. And I may be looking to much into it, but I think the brother was a potential victim of another rampage who just got lucky. Johnny didn't absolutely decimate everyone he killed, like the girl he drowned. So it's possible he thought between the damage and the drowning he was just left for dead. Just my thoughts, I like how the movie left things open for interpretation

The senseless violence speech imo didn’t make complete sense to me- Johnny wasn’t murdering senselessly, he did it because he wanted his mom’s locket back, and stopped after he found it. Way different from a bear
@LEnfant_Terrible
@LEnfant_Terrible 3 ай бұрын
His senseless killing is the reason we viewers are seeing and hearing everything from his perspective. Johnny literally hears / sees each of these people, and clearly sees they don’t have the necklace nor knowledge of the whereabouts of his necklace, yet still decides to kill each of them anyway. The first killing is the perfect example of this - Johnny sees that the locket inside the elderly man’s house is not Johnny’s missing locket (it is merely a lookalike), yet still despite that he brutally murders the elderly man anyway.
@evanguzman7059
@evanguzman7059 3 ай бұрын
The bear is Johnny as in killing senselessly as in Johnny is like an animal. He doesn’t think he just kills which is the plot of the movie (not much of plot) he then at times has reminiscence of his past such as the beginning of the movie in the mirror and the locket after killing chuck to even listening to the kids at the campfire and toy car. The ending where she leaves the locket and leaves he leaves her alone because like the bear. It stopped because it was about to drown and doesn’t care for its prey after cuz it’s an animal “not much thinking” and for Johnny he continues his path. “In a violent nature” as in in the head of a animal another words

People trying to make sense of it are just rambling. The movie tries to be deeper than what it actually is. Johnny was killing people for the Locket, it wasn't mindless, and he clearly had something going on in his head. Housed Hen Syndrome is a different phenomenon from ending people to gain access to an inanimate object. Johnny literally stops after reacquiring his mom's Amulet. He was hunting for his Amulet because he felt like he needed that Amulet, that is not housed Hen Syndrome.
@chrisrufo9445
@chrisrufo9445 2 ай бұрын
@@citizenvulpes4562I think it plays on this though, Kris gets in the car and hears about housed hen syndrome and thinks oh my god that’s Johnny he’s never gonna stop he’s gonna get me one day. When really Johnny got the locket and he’s presumably content now. I think it’s emphasizing the difference between what the victims perceive, senseless killing that will never end, and what the killer is experiencing, just give me the locket and leave me alone.

I have just watched this movie at the cinema. I had no idea what I was going to see - my local Odeon (UK) has a 'Scream Unseen' session where you go to the movies, but only find out what you are going to see when the movie starts. Not sure if it is a regional thing or if I misheard - when the back story is being told, the cover up of the lumberjacks being killed was explained that they had some bad weed before being eaten by wild animals - rather than bad food (as mentioned in your video). I wonder if this line was changed for the US vs the UK audience? I found it interesting that the first kill of the (supposed) teens was the storyteller and Johnny chose to slice through his mouth right to the back of his head.

The entire film is shot from the Killer’s Perspective. The camera begins to follow the woman as she is fleeing the woods. When the girl fleeing the woods is entering the pickup truck, something whispers from the forest and her entire demeanor changes. One could argue she was in shock and slipping out of consciousness. However, my interpretation (partly based on the camera following the perspective of the Killer) is that the traumatized girl becomes the killer. The final scene, the girl has blood appear on her cheek. I believe she killed the woman driving her to the hospital. Why? “Some animals kill for no particular reason.” Curious to read your thoughts and criticisms of my take.
@wadewilson8011
@wadewilson8011 3 ай бұрын
I KNOW you're reading too much into it. The "entire" movie wasn't in the killer's perspective. The campfire scene wasn't from his perspective. Kris standing there watching Johnny kill her friend at the end wasn't from his perspective. Only 90% of the movie was from his perspective. So you're reading too much into your own fan fiction. I think the KZbinr describes Kris' perspective perfectly, which is being, she'll never know where Johnny could be lurking. And that will be part of the trauma that she'll have to deal with for the rest of her life. She begged that woman not to stop the truck. Which means she was terrified to even stop. The blood was already on her cheek from running and getting caught in a snare. And the flies were symbolic of her never knowing where he is but always looking over her shoulder for him. You tried, but I'm shooting that theory COMPLETELY out of the sky. In fact, that would make a terrible ending and wouldn't make any sense. The woman's story was to show how even if there's a survivor, people will be NEVER believe an unkillable "zombie" came back from the dead and tore human beings apart. It makes way more sense to make people think that it was just animals. Every urban legend has its cover-up story explaining what "actually" happened, the in "real world" non-supernatural explanation. And since "Bobby" I never actually saw what or who attacked him from behind, the easiest explanation was, it had to be a bear. How many times have you heard people tell stories about Bigfoot, and then on the same token there's just as many people who do not believe in a completely skeptical of its existence. Johnny is just that world's version of Bigfoot or "Jason Voorhees' Camp Blood Curse" from Friday the 13th.

I appreciate what they were trying to do in this movie but, as I said out loud while watching the movie last night,” there is a reason we don’t see what Jason and Michael do in between their kills” …..because it boring!! They are mindless killers which means they would do mindless things in their downtime and frankly I’m not interested in watching it. I fast forwarded thru most of the walking scenes. At times, I almost thought this was a parody of Friday the 13th movies because of all the walking as a lot of us always comment on how Jason just slowly walks everywhere he goes. TBH it’s pretty tedious to watch Johnny do it. No thanks. I’m fine leaving that part to the imagination from now on. That being said, the kills are amazing. If someone could just take this movie and recut it without all walking scenes in that it would be tighter and better unfortunately. I realized some of the scenes built tension while you were watching what he was doing but the majority of them was a boring walk about the woods. Watch it for the kills and fast forward thru the rest.

A 10 minute bear story shot with bad green screen. The edges of the faces became slightly blurred. In and out of focus while the interior of the vehicle "bounced" to simulate driving. With a FINAL GIRL who did not deserve that moniker. I firmly believe the writer(s) did not know what to do after the killing was over.

I think they ran out of budget after the Yoga Girl scene. Realized they burnt out too quickly, then scraped together a bunch of scenes of Johnny walking through the forest, realized they didn't have a budget for a fire trap, and then had that entire scene with the pickup truck and bear monologue.

I feel like for movies like Inception, these videos make sense. For movies like this, if you really need this ending, that isn't an open for interpretation or an ambiguous ending you are an Idiot. The movie has a clear simple ending that shouldn't need an explanation. The title should just be. "Movie recap and my thoughts" there fixed it

This movie is a mix of Friday the 13th and Hatchet based on a killer's background relating to their mishaps, engaging a similiar plot development compared to other typical slasher films, and having a slight contrast with overall style and brutal killings.

Consider the name of the movie and the story the lady told about the bear. Johnny was innocent. He remained innocent til he was wronged. The loggers killed him and his dad, then killed the people that stole from him. But he only killed assholes. The only bit of exposition was to show that the campers were all dicks, or they tried to hurt Johnny. As soon as the bad people were no longer a threat and returned his necklace he went back to being peaceful. The violent nature refers to the bear that hurt the animals for no reason, the loggers that killed Johnny for no reason and the campers that stole his necklace and/or tried to kill him only stopping when no one was threatening him anymore.

i feel like Kris is becoming a killer. Remember the movie is the killer's perspective. After she left and ran away we were just following her. With the brutality she saw etc she is becoming a killer. She was more interested in what happened with the bear. Her first kill would be the old lady 😂

One argument that she was the killer the whole time is towards the end when there’s two of them left in the woods and the guys talking to her saying “I’ll distract him” and he’s stood right behind Johnny. Why would he stand so close after seeing what he’s done? My guess is that he was stood so close because he was talking to Chris - the killer.

Initially I thought the woman was his mother. It felt like Chris had become that animal in the end. At least some part of her. Before, the sounds of the forest were haunting from her perspective. Now the sounds were tranquil. The same as it was for Johnny. Might be a stretch but that was my thought after my screening.

I almost fell asleep. It should be called ASMR, the horror movie. The MANY minutes of walking with the crunching sounds under their feet made it tough to stay awake. I could have sworn it was 3 hours long. Such a slog to get through with victims who do the dumbest, most unrealistic things. Several just sit there while they’re murdered without even attempting to survive. You broke my hand so now I can’t walk? I’m going to distract him so you can escape and that means magically appearing at arms length behind him? I’m watching him hack my boyfriend to death for several minutes with not so much as a facial expression? The rock-bash guy and the guy at the beginning forgot how to use their arms to try and fight back. Two kills happen off-screen, which is ridiculous. The yoga girl could have just run down the hill she ultimately was thrown down but I guess they wanted a picturesque spot to perform the mortal kombat fatality they had planned. That ending was one of the worst ever. Had nothing to do with the movie and seemed to only exist to pad the runtime and then just drops you on your face. It was a real “blue balls” of an ending.

I thought the she was fixated on the bear because: 1. She knows there was no bear. It was johnny but the warden didn't want to say who it was just like she lies and says it was an animal who attacked her. 2. The was never a johnny and the actual attacker was always a bear. They were high on drugs and thought there was a killer thanks to the firecamp story. Reference to this would be the end were you see no necklace at all. Could be because there was never a necklace at all and a bear attacked them or johnny took the necklace and went to rest on his own.
