Diesen Marsch von Blankenburg kannte ich noch nicht. Sehr originell und schneidig vorgetragen, wenn man bedenkt, dass der "Marschkönig" bei einen über 1000 Kompositionen auch so manchen langweiligen Marsch komponierte. Vielen Dank für diese Einspielung!

Ein Marsch mit seltenem Schmiß - ist man von Blankenburg eigentlich nicht gewohnt, der sonst eher leichte Promenadenmärsche geschrieben hat.

Ich muss auch sagen, irgendwie geht der Marsch ins Blut und mir nicht mehr aus dem Kopf, obwohl ich viele Märsche kenne. Eine seltsame Mischung aus Rhythmus und Melodie.

Correct, this was the band of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler playing for Hitler on the morning of his birthday. Hermann Müller-John was the conductor.
