Griaß eich... by the way in Austria when you above 1000m you are "per Du" to everybody and you greet everybody you encounter = it is old traditional Alpine etiquette. Even back in the Imperial times when the Emperor was hunting in the mountains his hunting entourage was "per Du" with him as long as they were high up instead of adressing him befitting his rank with "your highness" or "your majesty".
@lowenmaulchen3033

I‘ve heard that, but 1000m altitude is not that high. Many villages and even cities are above that - so do you say du to everyone there? Or let’s say 2000 m altitude?

I’m of Mexican heritage living in Texas and there was a lot of German settlers that came in the 1800s. The Germans introduced a lot of instruments and various kinds of music that had an impact on Mexican and Tejano music in particular. I just thought I’d let you know a small bit of historical trivia. I love your chemistry and this podcast is the probably one of the most random things I listen to. It’s such a joy. ❤

Very British indeed I guess! 😄 Niedlich!😅 Liam's German is becoming more and more perfect. However, Valerie's English is now quite good, it must be said, but there is still a bit of that Germanic timbre in her voice and in the way she sometimes speaks, just as the Germanic women did 2000 years ago to force the Romans back to the other side of the Rhine, I would like to add ... 😂

Listening to this on hiking vacation in Austria. When it comes to planning hikes: Use Rother or Kompass guides and use gps tracks You can never go wrong with that. You just have to keep in mind that the altitude distances have to be doubled, because they only account for going up and ignore that going down is also exhausting. The prices of the cable car rides always struck me as dispropoportionally high. I just can't imagine that maintenace and upkeep is so high that you have to ask every passenger at least 28€ for a roundtrip. Especially considering how many people take these.
