If I remember right Its legal as long as the center art doesnt change and ALL of the text is visible clearly. Had someone at locals that would put stars on the side edges so none of their cards got stolen.

I wonder if Konami would allow allow card that where altered like this to be used in tournaments… like the bottom right stamp is still in tact and the text hasn’t changed. Just some artistic additions. Since most players play with sleeves there’s no way of feeling the difference so I wouldn’t see why not

You cannot feel the difference through the sleeve, but Konami banned altered cards from tournament play in 2019.

For the people just looking at cards as things to play in high-level tournaments, since Konami banned altered cards in 2019, the tournament playability value is gone, like slabbed cards or crazy misprints that can't be used in duels. That doesn't mean they don't have value. For people who understand art, the collector market, and scarcity, the value goes up. Most of my alters like this sell for triple digits. It's part of the reason I sigh and shake my head when I see comments about ruining the value of the card. Some people don't understand it, and are too proud to ask or learn. The math ain't mathin' when a $10 card resells for $100 or a 27 cent card sells over $100, and yet people say the value is gone. Something's value is what someone is willing to pay for it. Hope that helps/answers your question!
