Man you’re playing is so smooth! I know this is dumb to ask- I notice in my own practice, I play smooth /better and unobstructed without metronome clicking in background, but in the proper way- I should always use the clicks as the governing template, am I right? Do you always use clicks, especially when learning?

Hi Man, your question is not dumb at all. I only use the click to practice scales on bass. When I produce music in the studio, I also use a click track. In terms of playing live, I personally find it takes away some flexibility. When I record these piano videos, I never use a click. I just started playing in a church that uses click tracks, so I will likely be practicing with the click and backing tracks at home. I think a good musician is able to do both effectively. So my advise is to learn to play with and without a click......with those skills in your tool-belt, you will be able to thrive in all situations.
