This is amazing! To see Ferri in class is wonderful. Anyone know who the other dancers are?

Even with a video featuring the great Elena teaching, the dancers seem completely self-indulgent.

I cannot count this adagio @7:53! Any help?
@oldhat61006 жыл бұрын
Count 1and a 2and a etc. just in normal 8s. Cos the music is so busy the counts are less obvious, but they are there :)
@susannagroppello7515 жыл бұрын
I don't think it is in 8/8. The sound quality is bad, but I think it is in 3/4 with a lot of 'rubato' ('stolen time'). It helps if you listen to the introduction which goes 1-2-3 rubato 2-3...and then the piece starts. Then count always to 3, with some stolen time between the phrases, and you'll see it will match. It's a slow waltz. Actually a counting more likely to be used in pirouettes than in an adage (which usually uses 4/4 or 8/8 tempi), but as far as I know, Lynn Stanford is a very dynamic pianist who evidently likes to move the tempi and use them in many different ways...beautiful in any case, I believe.

Susanna Groppello Yes it’s definitely a 3/4. A dancer would count it 1 and a, 2 and a or 123 223 etc until they get to 8 and a or 823. That’s why I said to count it in normal 8s. Dancers tend to count everything in 8s :j

Sure, I know, I am a dancer, and you are right, you get to 8 counting the phrases. Sure! Was just trying to help to count the music's tempo. Greetings!

Susanna Groppello it’s good that you knew the time signature and you’re right about the rubato as well. I like musical dancers! (I’m a ballet pianist)

Martha Gramm Principals..Joffery principals Patricia Miller .ect ect .. always accompanied by Lynn Stanford at the piano .
