LBC, I loved this interview. Thank you for popping the video on this channel. I remember reading the Alex Rider series and loved it so seeing and listening to the workings of the mind of the author was splendid.

Great interview thanks to Mr. Horowitz, the presenter however had no idea about the topic he was discussing and obviously didn't prepare for it.

he is actually the fifth. its a shame some people have never heard of the bond book colonel sun written by kingsley amis in 1968. its one of the best books in the bond series. that's only my opinion of course

ijd64 Your right Colonel Sun is the best non-Fleming Bond novel, only Trigger Mortis is the best one since.

Another thing you get from boarding school seems to be a rather camp disposition.

how do you define a "camp disposition"? You can tell he was born into wealth .

I've always thought the reasons the movies deviated from the novels had more to do with the dispute and then the power struggle between the partnership of Harry Saltzman and Albert Broccoli and the partnership between Kevin McClory, And Jack Wittingham, over who had the rights to make these films, than anything else. Which is a shame because it took a film series that was exciting and fun to watch and turned it into something that was repetitious, predictable, silly and boring.

He is a great writer and I love his books, but his ego destroys him for me. I really love the Hawthorne stuff, but he should calm down a bit with the ego.,,, Maybe it is just me.

After seeing the Stormbreaker movie I think his writing needs to stay with books and as far away as possible from screenplays.

Paco Ramirez you would say differently if you watched foyle’s war or New blood. Those are excellent, they are also TV shows. I am sure you would enjoy them?
