Such a pleasure to hear this intelligent, articulate and well spoken dancer describe the trajectory of his life in dance. He speaks endlessly and it is all enormously interesting, flowing and greatly informative. His dance adventures in some of the greatest European companies is like a verbal movie...he is that descriptive. What a lovely and greatly talented, driven and sincere young man!

What a nice conversation. Thank you very much for sharing it. Valentino is a very nice person and a great dancer. I hope to watch his choreographer work. I wish I could watch his performance as Mercutio at Verona's R & J ballet. Much respect.

I remember seeing Valentino and Sergei in their graduation show, in Swindon. (Prior to going to Tokyo.) It was particularly interesting, because the theatre there is so small, and we were practically on stage with the dancers! That year was a particularly amazing group, and it was a truly wonderful and memorable evening. .

What a lovely experience listening to the very charmingly seductive and intelligent VZ. Reminds me of an Army buddy, Alberto Amoroso from Rochester (NY), who used to regale us with gospels promoting all things Italian. My favorite, I still remember, "You know, Hank, there are two kinds of people in the world, Italians, and those who wish they were!"

I've followed Valentino for some time.I've yearned for him to be promoted to Principal, but having listened to his conversation and now I find his direction is Choreography, he has a gift in this field. Maybe Royal Ballet will take him on. Every Happiness and Success to him. 🌹👍

Valentino is enormously talented. It’s a shame he has not been made a principal dancer, although obviously not everyone can be. Hope he is able to choreograph for the Royal Ballet.

Patricia Horne yes indeed, all the soloists at RB are talented and as you say they can not all become principals.

he's an ordinary talented soloist dancer, with an undeniable charm, but its not sufficient to be principal (especially when there is a lack of style and refinement, combined with exagerated virtuosity and imprecision). A lovely demi-caractère dancer (pretty rare nowaday), an ideal colas. i find his choregraphies sporific.

@@r.r.c7692 If you mean 'boring', the word is 'soporific.' Though I can't agree with you. Have you seen his 'Scherzo' on youtube, using younger members of the company in delightfuliy inventive combinations of solos, duets, quartets, sextets etc to the 2nd movement of Rachmaninoff's Symphony # 2?

I was at Verona for the performance of Romeo & Juliette. A truly memorable evening. Distinctly remembered that at the Curtain Call, you step forward to weave at the audiences, perhaps to your grandmother and all other relatives.

Really interesting to hear Valentino’s thoughts on how his career progressed. Lovely also to hear his impressions of the wonderful performance of Johan Kobborg’s R&J in August 2019 in the Arena Di Verona. Valentino (Mercutio) was particularly energised that night and performed more full-out and freely than I’d seen before. Bravo 👏👏👏
