Jonah wasn't afraid of the Ninevites, he hated them for their brutality and didn't want them to be saved, and would've rather died than try to help them. The root lesson of Jonah is one of the hardest lessons for us to accept: God loves our enemies just as much as he loves us.

Blessings! As @Blckcloud73 was commenting, It's hard to think how Jonah would've rather died than to try to help this people. It's similar to Love your enemies right? and as we apply it into our lives. How much of Jonah is within us? We can easily judge Jonah but that's what I love about scripture. That the word makes us look within ourselves. Are we going to stay in the ship or are we going to allow to be thrown into the sea? Jonah did not had an easy task(reminds me of our daily battle not only with The World but our battle within us on daily basis. Blessings Sister Ashtyn love what you're doing.

Shalom! Thank you for this instruction. I believe we are in a time that God is reaching out to the “Jonahs” in this world who instead of humbling themselves and serving the Lord our God, they run away from His instruction and serve their sins. The “Jonahs” have hatred in their hearts for their “enemies” & are blinded by that hatred instead of loving their “enemies” & receiving blessings from God as God has instructed us in His holy word to do. I pray for my “enemies”. I pray they receive the blessings of this message & are blessed abundantly as I am, amen!

Hello Ashtyn. I’m being blessed by these revelations. So at min 9:11 “God will not allow you to be comfortable in your sin” What about those who are murders and thieves who have no remorse whatsoever? Those that don’t even have a conscious for committing such evil acts, does this apply to them also?

Hi Lindo. I don't believe that we can apply this principle to those who have not yet recognized that they are in sin. The Holy Spirit does not convict those who do not believe of individual sins like it convicts us. The Holy Spirit's job in the lives of unbelievers is simply to get them to see that they need a Savior. It isn't until after they come to that realization and accept Jesus Christ as Lord that the Holy Spirit convicts them for the sins that they have committed. (John 3:18-19) I hope this makes sense!
