What isn't often mentioned is the build quality of the iBot. It's well beyond any other power chair on the market. It should be the standard. In terms of quality, nothing is even close to the iBot.

@@joshgoldstein1568 Yup. All electronics are sealed. They retain a lot of the same technology and manufacturing standards that were used in the Segways. Some of those units sailed well past 30K miles. Those used oil-filled gearboxes. I'm not sure if the iBot does, but I wouldn't be at all surprised. I have an iBot and will have to investigate.

@@ions82 thanks! I have a Permobil F5 (non-VS) about two years now. I don’t think my employee group commercial plan will cover an iBot for my next chair but will certainly try and consider self pay

Would you be willing to discuss how you acquired an iBOT and how much it cost? I remember seeing an early prototype on some primetime news show about 25 years ago. I wondered why it never got widespread use. I'm sure cost is a factor, if not THE factor, but I assumed the first time someone used one of these in public it would have been all over the news and social media.
