Reason on the grip angle: by tilting it more forward, you limit your wrist's ability to move against will, which also helps with memory recognition. The angle pretty much limits your wrists willingness to aim down when you press the trigger. Try this- extend your arm and hand as far as it can go, and pretend to grip a gun with vertical grips. You will notice your wrist has a greater ability to tilt up and down. Now do the same thing while pretending to grip a handgun with a forward grip. You will notice you have MUCH less ability to tilt your wrist down. This is why competition handguns usually have grips at unusual grip angles.

The weight inertia thing: So the weights are "floating" while being held by the springs. When firing, the gun will recoil. Because the weights are "floating", the weights does not follow the gun's recoil due to their own inertia, but the spring still does follow the recoil because they are "connected" to the gun. Because the weight doesn't recoil, the spring will get compressed by the weight. And of course, when a spring is compressed, it wants to go back. This action is what counteracts the recoil, essentially "pushing" the gun back forward everytime it recoils from the firing.
@Shadowboost5 ай бұрын
It's a mass damper
@alaskanbas65075 ай бұрын
Whoever came up with this, is a genius in my books. Mechanically it's a simple solution, yet it seems to be pretty good at achieving what it was designed for.
@Azmodon5 ай бұрын
Also depends on the orientation of the spring / weight, mixing directions is common. If the spring is against the face plate it gets compressed during recoil (resisting it via spring rate), that spring rate force is applied forward throughout the recoil timeframe, when the recoil decelerates the weight hits the rear (in the direction of recoil) with what force is left in the system, so it's a force delay mechanism (classic mass damper). With the springs behind the weights, the weight doesn't compress the spring until recoil decel, then striking the face plate and pushing the gun forward. That's why some shooters will have the lower 2 weights in the reverse config. as it's a forward and down impulse. And changing the number of reversed weights changes the timing of that impulse (since springs are linear, while the force would be the same if you had 1 vs 2 reversed, 1 would compress twice as much so the dwell time between recoil decel to forward impact would be double the ms of 2, and impart rearwards force after recoil has ended until impact).
@UyeGaming4 ай бұрын
how is that vs Mercury Recoil Reducers?
@Azukaae4 ай бұрын
@@UyeGaming Mercury is a liquid, but as long as it is contained in a limited chamber, it essentially acts as a single object and would still be a good mass damper, and without the need of a spring. It is also heavier than steel (though still lighter than tungsten), but is way more toxic than either so that could be a factor. And because it is a liquid, it makes the adjustment way harder compared to conventional weights

Also On the "list" the DOJ maintains of models, there are also ones in 32 S&W, and a few 38 spl ones even ;) I think the 32 and 38 ones all have to be used with wadcutter rounds though, because of their design. When I competed in Olympic Pistol in the late 80’s to the mid 90’s I used a Walther GSP in my American Standard Pistol discipline for this very reason. The Pardini’s had a great design and I really liked them, but they had terrible reliability. The metallurgy on the bolt ears was sub-par so they would crack at low round counts. It seemed like every match one or two were going down for a mechanical fault. As a supported athlete at the Olympic Training Center I’d use my Walther for trigger drills and shoot an insane amount of shots through it. - nearly 500k rounds in 5 years. The Pardinis just couldn’t keep up with the round count of other brands. It seems they’ve fixed their metallurgy problems and progressed some elements of the design to the pistol can finally live up to its great design potential. If I ever get back into the sport I’d pick one up in a heartbeat. Always loved them. 👍

I LIKE .22 slow fire target shooting just for both the practice and the meditation aspects of it. My current pistol for that is a early 1980's production, Ruger MK2 Government Target which I got in 99%+ finish and a VASTLY improved trigger on it. I had a production stock model years ago and loved it, but..... whoever did THIS work was awesome because out of the box it broke at about half a pound, about 1/32in after you hit the wall after about an 1/8in of free travel, there is practically ZERO travel after break to the point where it's actually REALLY hard to get a definitive trigger weight on it with my scale. When I got it, the internals weren't spotless, and now they're bordering on dirty, just because it's still the best triggered firearm I own and I'm honestly a little nervous about breaking it down FULLY for a deep clean. There's some sort of magic in this pistol to the point I'm seriously just considering buying a parts washer rather than risking messing with that. This Pardini makes me jealous.

Thanks. Your video is an enjoyable education and update on the state of the art. I used to compete in sport pistol in the Navy (not U.S.) long ago. It was a memorable life experience and lessons that I carry with me to this day. Men and women, hot contests, everyone deadly serious but sociable. I got to the point of psych training, diet, exercise, sleep schedule, precise record keeping. Still far below the top competitors, but using standard issue equipment, pistol became an anchor in my life, a weekly routine and a place to go, and leave the planet to be somewhere else for 2-3 hours. Back then, the weaponry was straightforward. These modern pistols answer everything we wanted to improve the competition, and then some. There's still everything from psychology to wind, physical and mental conditioning, so the equipment and technology don't take away from the skillset, just make it all the more intense. I recommend anyone contemplating competition give Olympic pistol a few months to see what it does for their skills. It's not intimidating, it's easy (and cheap, relatively) to get started, but there's no limit to how far you can go in the sport. Plus, there's the confidence that if you pick up anything smaller than a hand cannon, you are going to hit where you aim.

And not only that, it also jumps a little to the left which is worse than just straight up. They do offer a spring-buffer thingy that you can screw on like a barrel weight. It makes things better, but it is rather heavy and makes the gun unbalanced in my opinion. Standing ovation for the best muzzle awareness I've seen on KZbin. Lots of weapon channels out there should pay attention. I won't name names but there are a couple popular weapons based KZbinrs that clearly have no idea what they are doing. CoughHerreraCough.... doesn't even drop the mag before clearing his weapon, and never did....while giving range safety instructions no less in a video not too long ago.

Also: how do they do with American ammo: like cci sv? I have a hard time swallowing $0.20 cpr and up if they NEED it for practice (would tolerate if the reliability goes to 100% with fancy for matchs and stays non-obnoxious with CCI sv or other for practice).
@yootoobvyooer5 ай бұрын
With so many fliers even as hobby shooting, I was tempted to reload 22LR. Whatever they're paying for ammo, it's definitely worth it considering how crappy typical 22 ammo is.
@charlesdeilke83645 ай бұрын
My SP shoots cci sv just fine, some have issues with length but more of a magazine issue. They are great rapid fire pistols almost feels like cheating shooting timed&rapid.
@BullseyePistol5 ай бұрын
So far no issues with CCI SV
@magnusnordstrm28275 ай бұрын
I do not own one personally, but have shot many of these in various clubs. (Super common pistol in Denmark) There are no issues with any ammunition (Except maybe crappy "bucket-sold" ammunition, but these rounds are better off being thrown by hand anyway) ;-) It performs better with SK or Lapua Ammunition, as does most guns, but CCI SV are quite normal training ammunition over here too. No issues there. 🙂

The trigger can drop the sear while the bolt is out of battery ? In all other firearms that is a major defect.
@guillaumeausset82545 ай бұрын
The « chamber flag » he put in is actually a dry fire plug. And a looooooooot of firearms can drop the sear when out of battery (ar15, most pistols, hell i can even do it without the slide on mines etc ) in most designs it’s not a problem as the firing pin can’t even reach the primer when out of battery

Just find a bullseye shooting club near you online. Be open minded and try different disciplines. Duel, precision, rapid fire. This is far more about battling with yourself and the better you get the more it is about psyche aspects. Find some of those you like and get that new zen experience of shooting. Don't underestimate holding exercises.

A quick question please. I use a Morini CM22 M for rapid fire. This model is not Morini's rapid fire pistol but at the time it was what I could afford. Now, the most problematic aspect of the pistol is muzzle jump which I have attempted to cure using barrel weights with some success. Does the Pardini with its counter weights have that problem?
@BullseyePistol5 ай бұрын
No, the Pardini has minimal muzzle rise.

rapid fire variant you have here is sp/rf, lighter bolt and more inertia damping than sp. back in early 2000s you have more competition from hammerli, walther, Izhevsk and Dongfeng but it's pretty much only pardini left in international competition at this point

Walther has a chance of taking back some of the market with their new GSP-500. Lots of people who are just hobbyists here in Germany don't like Pardini because they often break and their customer service is horrible. What good is a great gun when you have to send it Italy for repairs once a year and it takes them 6 months to send it back to you.
@alexxu30044 ай бұрын
@@maximilianmustermann5763 new gesp-500 is basically a face lifted sp20 rrs, I dont really know the logic behind walther's decision to discontinued that in favor of ssp just to discontinued again :P, here in Canada it's the opposite, pardini has service department with stock of parts and walther need couple of month waittime to get anything
