It’s great that Mattel has finally done the pyroraptors Wing arms right
@GiganyxGaming206 ай бұрын
The thing is Mattel had already made the models for the 3 dominion pyroraptor figures before it got the big feathers cuz universal added the big feathers after the Mattel models were released and this is not their only “long feather pyroraptor” the Epic attack one has long feathers too.

The Hammond Collection Pyroraptor is such a massive improvement over the mainline toys with a better sculpt and a great paint job, I am so glad I got mine when I did and is officially my number 1 favourite figure in the Hammond Collection line so far. The one dinosaur I'm hoping for one day is to come into this line the Jurassic Park 3 Spinosaurus, which when it does, will be my number 1 favourite Hammond Collection figure! Great in depth review Marco!

I think there's one thing that you didn't mention about in this review. That is, the pyroraptor in the movie has lips like other species of raptors in the franchise. But strangely, Mattel chose not to give Pyroraptor lips from the beginning. Since the toy version in the mainline. Until now, the premium collector line, they didn't give it a lips either.

My theory is that the big thighs are purely a side effect laziness on Mattel’s part, it’s probably just slightly less effort to sculpt a figure with huge ball hips. This applies to the rest of the joints on most figures with most of them being visible circles which are extremely distracting lmao

The size, the proportions, the actual feather son the arms! This figure is so good imo. Sure, once we actually deconstruct the figure, problems arise, but unlike the OG HC Raptors who looked like toys when compared to your 3D printed parts who looked like you ripped them straight oft he screen, this guy actually looks straight off the screen for the most part. The head really sells the look imo, as well as the general shape of the proportions. Most people won't notice hip and torso size inaccuracies right away, especially compared to the face which imo needs to look as accurate as possible because that is what your eyes are naturally drawn to. Brava Mattel for the most part on this guy imo.

I just got my Pyroraptor and decided to apply the paint corrections you mentioned in the video, and the figure actually looks better. Plus I'm looking foward for that Wing extension that Rod is working on. Also, while I was looking at the box, I noticed that in the render the 3 finger claws are painted while in the figure it's missing the one you pointed up.
@spartanvenom53883 ай бұрын
I feel the wide hip problem might have more to do with the size of the figure, as it may be far easier to fit this particular type of joint into a larger area. I’m still new to the line, with my first figure being the Therizinosaurus less than a week ago, and getting Delta yesterday. So maybe a comparison with a another smaller figure would help illustrate your point; this is just based on my experience as a Transformers fan, as not every type of joint can fit into a figure, hence Hasbro frequently using ball joints to take the place of two on smaller figures. 6:38 Also you didn’t need to edit that Ironman figure, it already has wider hips than it should.

I think one of the biggest improvements that NEED to be done is those dark lifeless eyes! No matter how good a figure is, I don't one that doesn't have visible eyes which is where the human brain pays the most attention to when looking at anything with a face! Mattel: FIX THEM EYES

When does it come out?
@ThitiwathChangcheen-u2o24 күн бұрын
5:42 It's because this Carnotaurus is a bit bigger than raptor size, which makes it has enough space to put the articulation without a wide hips. I've already seen the inside of lately HC raptor. And I saw that the screw that lock the two legs were almost touching each other when moving and rotating the legs inside. Which mean if they have a thinner hips. They wouldn't be enough space to put this type of articulation. Unless they are going to make the legs rotate forward and backward only. therefore. Your theory about they don't look at reference material properly isn't a main problem of this. It's just one of part of the problem.
@MarcoMakesOfficial24 күн бұрын
Thanks for pointing it out. So to me the problem now is how they balance modifying the sculpt of a figure to include that articulation and affecting the accuracy of the sculpt. I understand some people would prefer having a wider figure to accommodate that articulation at the expense of accuracy, but I personally fall into the category of those who would rather have a more picture perfect looking figure with the legs going back and forth than having that extra bit of articulation in the hips. I don't think it's needed at all. To those who think it's important to have that extra articulation, it's fine, it's just another point of view and there's both pros and cons to both aspects. It's up to us to decide what we prefer and that's ok 👍 also I respect how you opened the figure up too, it's always really fascinating to figure our how they design things, it helps so much when designing your own stuff. 🦖
@ThitiwathChangcheen-u2o24 күн бұрын
@MarcoMakesOfficial For me i prefer the thinner hips with back and forth rotation only just like you. But my comment is to point out that i look at the inside and made me realized why they made HC raptors hips so ridiculously wide. And that's because it would be enough space to put a screw lock for this type of articulation. It would be nice to see they decide to making HC raptor with thinner hips, although it might have to be sacrificed the in and out articulation.

Do they make the hips wide and the feet large so that the figures can stand up correctly? Narrower hips and smaller feet may make the figure top heavy and more likely to fall over. 😊
@MarcoMakesOfficial6 ай бұрын
The feet size doesn't matter as proven with their recent releases and the replacement parts. The width of the hips play no part in making something too or bottom heavy.

Marco can’t make a poseable tail with a wire because the rubber we use doesn’t react well to having a wire. Also it’s RodsRandomWork who makes the poseable feet for the Rex, so you would be better off asking him to make the feet.
