When you said the 1/2 1/4 thingie I realized sometimes I have really good days, like REAL good, I noticed a pattern recently that when I focus on my tapping noise ( the keyboard basically ) I hit things easier, especially now that my headset broke on one side and I don’t use it anymore.. so I think whenever i focus on the keyboard I accidentally end up figuring out the rhythm of the map im playing, I recently started focusing on the rhythm way more in the way I said before and im suddenly setting so many good scores ( for my level ).

Replay analysis personally helps me a lot with spaced streams. When I encounter a pattern I couldn't hit, I make a training map out of it and analyze my attempts in Rewind. I can see where I was off beat / overaimed / underaimed and compensate accordingly.
@Xapyion29 күн бұрын
agreed on looking at the individual circles -- i used to just read the stream shape which would work for regular streams but i would have to be lucky to hit spaced ones. however, playing hdhr was actually what forced me to just read the individual circles, and now im able to hit spaced streams and really windy and fast streams more consistently

I’m not a great stream player by any means (yet) but I can share my experiences about how I got comfortable and consistent with streams. I used to be the absolute garbage at streams, get it right today lose it the next week; deathstream 200 today, finger lock for months, etc.. I am down bad for streams, it’s my favorite thing to do in osu but for the love of me I sucked so bad. I started practicing streams more seriously in 2020 and had only been getting the consistency that I dreamed of as of this month (yippee) well with a lot of long breaks too. The turning point was definitely when I can “feel” my left hand, it’s like growing more braincells 💀. For the longest time I can not actually feel the individual notes I was pressing (tapping really hard didn’t help either) until some random ahh day my 2 braincells realized I have a left hand (can’t believe I reached 15k like that by playing jumps, the fu-). By some magic I dont finger lock 24/7 anymore, only when I wasn’t focusing or misreading will get me locked. My mentality was sooo full of anxiety when playing streams, all I think is “can I just keep improving or will I fall back as it has been for the last 2 years” , now I’m really satisfied with my capabilities after refining my tapping and consistency, suuper comfortable with streams. Just don’t force your self to play ‘practice diffs’ that you don’t enjoy, you’ll beat yourself up if you don’t do better after playing so so sO much of that same. stupid. square streams. Play maps that make you happy folks. TL;DR: Not just looking at circles people, feel each note with your hand. And play maps YOU enjoy, not practice diffs (unless you really like them, you’re free to do so), speed it up, slow it down with osu trainer and you can enjoy the map f o r e v e r

What I did was (around 3k currently) was first play long stream maps for stamina, which I would play for warmup every session. Then I would just play whatever I felt like. Instead of just the idea of stamina, I like to think of the idea of comfortability. When I could do short streams of 180bpm, I played normal stream maps around that bpm range where I focused on getting comfortable. I believe that even by playing just low bpm maps, you can build stream comfortability where you learn how to properly read streams and how to tap evenly. For me what indicated that I was comfortable was when I no longer felt strain on 180 bpm and could consistently push for higher bpm seemingly randomly (meaning I had never really try to play at that bpm before). What helped most for me was naturally letting the uncomfortability of streams naturally shape my technique(I use mostly fingers for high bpm and some wrist for low). If something felt uncomfortable, I would change my technique to make it more comfortable, and did that everyday until my natural technique was confortable always. I'm now currently grinding spaced streams and 220+ bpm consistency... Yomi Yori fc incoming 🙏🙏 Also the most important tip I have is: If you don't feel like it, just don't play it. For example, if my fingers felt particularly heavy one day, I would just not play streams(or not play osu). I found that when I didn't force myself to play, I would always perform better the next day. ok sorry for writing so long guys 😅

This has honestly been really helpful, ive been trying to learn streams and i cant lie the one thing that worked for me the best was buying a keypad and not using my laptop keyboard lmao. But other than that, im around 260k rn and have been trying to get the flow aim down, i have the speed and stamina for playing those maps because i sometimes used autopilot to train, which obviously didnt help for my aim, but i choked fcs on yggdrasil and honesty(the 5*) today and passes through the fire and flame for the first time, and was somehow able to get a 3 miss on yami no mahou(the 5*). And my stamina was nowhere near that before this video

This is certainly an interesting and informative video, althought my training and methods of improving stamina and speed and the way I aim streams and spaced streams are different, i can see this being extremely useful to most other people and actually help them out in some way. As for me, since i've started, I've always believed that the faster you can stream, the more stamina you will have for lower bpms and this has turned out to be right for me as when i practiced high bpm streams, my stamina on lower bpm streams become more and more infinite. For instance, when i started out, I wanted like 180bpm stamina so instead of playing 180bpm streams, I played like 205+bpm stream maps, which may have seem counter intuitive, but after actually stretching my hands and making sure I have a good technique and pushing myself through the burn, my hands eventually learnt how to stream 205+bpm and then I could actually deathstream 180 and even 190 with ease. And as of recent times, I've gotten to the point where I can play and stream a fair bit of 240-250bpm which has coincided into me having incredible stamina on 210 and 220bpm maps, making maps like freedom dive actually possible for me. And as for flow aim, this is probably the weirdest thing but I primarily read and look at all the circles within a specific combo colour (for example, lets say there's a green 1-5 stream pattern coming up within a big stream then I'll focus on the green pattern until the next combo colour comes up) I dont necessarily look at each circle individually but rather chunk them all up by combo colour. And I want to say that i got this habit because I am actually an EZ and low ar player and so I've come to rely and base my entire reading off of combo colours and numbers as thats what I'd use to read when playing super dense reading maps, either low ar or EZ.

hearing your pointers on stamina is actually super helpful! I have had problems with long stream stamina at the 170+ range for literal years, even tho i've been grinding stamina for a while and can comfortably hit 120-160 bpm deathstreams. however cuz of it i've got pretty good finger control for burstier maps like a lot of demetori stuff and focused training maps like chaoz fantasy (only bottom diff tho my fingers aint fast enough for the other stuff LOL) (also for keeping in time if counting is too hard you can also tap your foot on the floor, the tactile feedback of the ground helps a TON) also a bit of a pointer for my low bpm brethren; if you can play 130-160 bpm comfortably and want to learn spaced streams a lil faster, ALT MAPS HELP A LOT. Since the patterns are usually much more spaced than at higher bpms it sorta makes them easier to hit.

@mostsanekeqingenjoyer i mean focus and mindset-wise. i don't focus as much when I play maps outside my comfort zone outside diffspikes, which leads to lots of shitmisses, and, I think, diminishes improvement to be gained from playing skillcap maps, because I'm not truly trying as hard as I could be.

one note about the stamina parts of the video: bpms dont just fit into neat little boxes, and treating building stamina for "high bpm" differently from "low bpms" is kinda reduntant. what high and low bpms are for you will change as your technique and stamina develop. if someone lacks stamina for 170 then 170 is a high bpm for that person, even if its "objectively" low bpm. if someone can stream 220 bpm forever then its a low bpm for them, etc.

I'm none of a top player, just a low 6 digits player, but may I share some of my experience in learning how to stream? I personally acquired my streaming technique in quite a natural manner, at that time didn't really look up for any kinds of tip and trick regarding it, but rather just jumped right into the maps (I was practicing 4* stuffs around that time) Briefly saying, my improvement progress can be summarized like this: Not being able to acc a burst => being able to acc burst patterns consecutively at a certain bpm => add more not to the burst/speed that up => being able to stream Nowadays I can sometimes play 240 bpm burst, and anything below that ceiling is among my streaming comfort zone, as long as it's not about deathstream (cuz my flow aim is not consistent enough I suppose, but I have a long way to go, still. About flow aim specifically, like what I wrote previously, when I was able to play longer burst (which can actually call a "stream" already), I started to have a feeling about how fast/slow I should aim in order to adapt to the stream patterns, and the accuracy part is all about muscle memory I suppose. Then speaking of the video, I think it's quite inspirational to me who took this osu! game seriously quite late to actually become a "good player", I can't tell if I can make it all the way up to 3 digits or so in just 4 years counting from now, but we will see, ig :)

I'm not going to lie, I don't really understand what my issue is when i'm trying to read spaced streams. I've come to understand on my own that looking at individual notes helps a TON with understanding your spatial awareness in accordance with your aim consistency, but no matter what I try to do, when I look at a spaced stream (even if only barely) regardless of the AR etc, I just for some reason only manage to see it with a little bit of my eye which simiply makes me forget the notes location and I chain miss. I don't understand why my eyes wont properly follow what I know i'm exactly trying to follow, let alone what i'm supposed to do to train that shortcoming better. (21k)

Have you ever experienced that "hitch" in the fingers? It causes me to tap too early and then locks me into 100s. Do you correct your streaming speed when you stream and get 100s, or focus on simply keeping the UR really low regardless if you are off beat due to a mistake. It happens on those onlyforyou LongStream maps a lot for me, especially on slower BPM. Eventually one of my fingers either locks or does that weird "hitch" that makes me go too early. Thank you. Also, have you tried reading Spaced Streams on Hidden? I find that reading one note at a time becomes impossible on HD Spaced Streams and Low AR Streams on HD. It feels like Hidden forces you to read/memorize the entire pattern. Also, hey man. Twenties aren't old. I am 29 years old but don't feel like it makes any difference.

tbh everything in this video... everyone is saying it there's literally no other way to imrpove stamina i know a lot people might watch it cuz they cant improve stamina but they already know what to do at least i did when i was pushing stamina i dont really need anymore i got inf stamina on 220 and can deathstream 250 but yea if you wanna improve stamina play streams your not gonna be able to play 220 when you cant even 180 ofc you gonna start playing 180 first and the only thing i can recommend please for the love of god do not play 140bpm or square stream practice it wont improve you a bit you play square practice to check your limit not to improve and even if you check its most likely gonna be inaccurate like i can play 1k+ notes on 220 but i cant play them on square practice and for the 140bpm i saw people who started playing streams at 6 digit like 2k-3k pp and saying its genetics cuz they cant play 150bpm "streams" ofc you cant you cant even SS 5* what you talking about playing streams if you want to start learning streams do that on 50k rank at least so you have basics and can tap 200-220bpm bursts

I have question. Do you have any tips for hidden streams? Do you have played enough hidden streams to have any tips?

I've been quitting and coming back to osu for some time now (more like resting instead of quitting) I love the game and I mainly play death streams but every time I play I get finger pain (sharp pain), I'm not sure if it is because of my technique, table height or other factors, but every time I play for a week my fingers hurt for the rest of the day and then a quit for a month until it doesn't hurt so I don't break my finger and then come back and same thing happens again. Any ideas on how to solve this? :|

so I’ve played with hidden as long as I’ve touched the game, and reading nomod streams is much more difficult to me than with hidden. What can I do to kind of untrain that bad habit which might help me read nomod (and possibly hidden) streams better?
@Chaoticy Жыл бұрын
If you play with HD and that is easier for you and you enjoy it then you should keep playing with HD.

What if I have stamina but my fingers just refuse to move, fingerlock Like when i'm playing even 170bpm digitalhypno long stream practice maps, in the middle of the map my fingers just stop moving even thought my hand is feels like there are no stamina consumed at all this doesn't happens on the good days tho
@Chaoticy Жыл бұрын
The only time I ever experience something like this is if I play too many days in a row without taking a day or two break from playing... Maybe you are playing too often?
@givikap120 Жыл бұрын
@@Chaoticy nah, it's an opposite actually nowadays i don't even have time to play osu everyday, or even 2 days out of 4, when i used to play everyday for months

what causes fingerlock for me is either not enough warm up or its a bpm im not comfortable on. physically having the stamina for a bpm vs being able to maintain the rhythm ive found are two very seperate things. play easier maps at that bpm where you can focus more consciously on your tapping and work your way up. at least that's what worked for me

Play HD if thats more comfortable for you, there are many good stream players who know how to play HD.
