i dont use anything that uses the 2.5 head and yet i have like 10 2.5 heads for 10 different iems. The world doesnt need anymore 2.5. we can have 1 for the whole world to share and it will still never be used

I heard the FD5 once, I agree with the sound points. Its like too analog sounding or something, it has this personality like a high end 80s stereo...like not quite clean...like listening to vinyl or something where there is a nostalgic air to everything. Its kind of an interesting IEM in a sea of same same. The metal body, styling, and nice case give it a premium feel. I feel like a classic rock fan, not into sound gear, would think these are pretty wonderful as a complete package. They arnt the best sounding or any one thing but they fill a certain sound/look flavor pretty completely imo

Z I had an epiphany with my fd5, spinfit 240 come with inserts to change the nozzel Dia. It allows the use of any tips on the narrow stem.

For the narrow nozzle, I'm using AZLA Vivid Edition eartips as they fit perfectly and downtilts the frequency response. The FD5 is my guilty pleasure. Too bad it is also discontinued if I'm not mistaken.

If you like single dynamic try their latest JD7, they are amazing and very cheap. They have excellent tunning and no EQ needed. They sound fantastic right from the phone. Now, in terms of the best sound the FH9 are simply a killer. They have also 12.5mm dynamci bass driver but also another 5 ba. With the right attributes (great source, amp, green filters + a tiny bit of EQ) they are just phenomenal. They have amazing clarity / details, sounds excellent but they also have this hidden feature which you need to use EQ to discover it. Their bass is very good but not too special out of box. But if you EQ the sub-bass about +2db from around 100hz down... you will get this OMG beast mod.. their bass is absolutely amazing and very addictive. You can read more on Head-Fi FH9 thread. FiiO is making some great products indeed.

FH9 is great but it has 6 BA's not 5, FiiO FD7 is very comparable to FH9 in some ways even better, more organic and natural sounding than the FH9.

I had this set for a year or so. Great bass response but I recall the treble being a bit hot. If I were to tune it I’d try to aim for a warm neutral instead of the V shape that it currently is.

One request . Make 3 tunings. Instead of balance. Bass and treble. Make one for below 40db. One for 65db below. And other for above 80 dB. And make 3 tunings. Because loads of people listen loud music and it's hard to find an iem that has soft upper mids and treble at that volumes . Because upper nids and treble at higher volumes can encrease by 7db inside the ear. If I make sense ....

love these , I preferer the narrow tubes with spinfits , less shouty but for god sake make the outer bore of the sound tubes the same diameter so you can share the same tips across tubes and fuck the tri flange they are torture devices !!

Personally I’d bring the bass down to around 400hz, as well as bring down the treble peaks so it’s not as hot. It’d make it much easier to listen to for longer periods instead of 30minutes or so.
