I'm not mad that they've changed their sound, I'm just sad that I missed going on a live show when they used to sound like in this video. But I still got Dark Tranquillity and now At the Gates are back. So fans of deep growls are satisfied and I still listen to In Flames in my care, so nothing to worry about. I don't feel like I have to buy their newer stuff but I'm happy with what I've got. Thank you In Flames for all the amazing shit you've done. In Flames I trust!!!

Also, I have yet to meet someone who has been listening to In Flames since the mid 90's or before that who likes the new and the old. Some people, which is the case on here, CLAIM they have been listening to them for long and say they like both styles. Everybody I know puts In Flames on the level of any mainstream band out there nowadays but still like their old material.

Alot of you guys need to realize that alot of the changes that occurred to IF's music was to make songs that were more concert compatible (changing from dual harmonized leads over a rhythm guitar which cant be done with only 2 guitarists for instance). The same can probably be said about Ander's vocal choice, the gravely growl that he had would absolutely kill his throat with time. All that being said, I would like to see them incorporate some of their older style in the next album.

Actually if I didn't know the song Delight and Angers was by In Flames, I would have mistaken it for an emo song. Everything from his tone to the lyrics was very emo-like. Come Clarity doesn't fall too far either. Nu-metal sounds are heard in songs like Cloud Connected, The Quiet Place, and Alias among lots of other songs.

No, they played it at a couple of other shows too, but only during 2004 on their STYE tour(s). There's no other live footage other than this, I only have audio bootlegs and I think that on 1 or 2 bootlegs they played the song. But those ones isn't as good as this one, he really gives his best performance ever here.

Whenever I have different needs for music, I can usually count on IF whether if i want more of their original gothenburg sound then jester race or something more melodic then asop. either way IF will always be my favorite melodeath band =]

Selling out is when you change your sound and image to sell more albums. When you water down the sound and the lyrics to appeal to more people. When you tour with bands that contradict what you were about and tour heavily which you never did before. Did you know that In Flames did not step a foot in the States till after Colony? When they did, they realized that they are missing out on a lot of money and now they fucking tour every single state.

Selling out does not necessarily have to mean that they are doing something against their will. It can also mean changing your image and abandoning your roots and sound to sell more albums, appeal to more people, and make more money. Like I said before, no musician has ever sold out and declared that he/she did. I mean come on, have some common sense. Do you really expect him to admit that they sold out?! Even if a band is sell-out, why would anyone care? If you think the music is good, you think the music is good. I like all of their albums and there is people who only like last album maybe, since they maybe just got into metal. There is not many people that don't listen to metal, and then start with death metal, you start softer and progress. When you can perfect it, then you have a reason to give negative criticism. On the same note, when you have sold more albums than they have with just the ones you are criticizing, then you may have a valid point.
