As a Swede growing up with old In Flames, im so fucking happy they brought back their old roots. They surely redeemed themselfs with this album

I'm super glad that the heaviness is back.. but the core of old In Flames, those melodies and leads are still missing. Reroute is still the last good album.
@christophersanzo18332 жыл бұрын
There’s melodies all over the place! What are you talking about??!! Maybe there’s not a guitar lead in every song, but so what??! The Great Deciever has a great lead guitar melody. The melody in this song comes from the riffs and solos. I don’t know, makes it more special when there’s not 10 different leads in one song 🤷♂️ 🤘🔥🔥🤘

Saw them in Quebec city Sept 12. Amazing show (all 4 groups). I was really glad to hear old stuff. I was worried the vocals wouldn't be great but I was pleasantly surprised. Discovered Fit for an Autopsy that night and I love them. Can'T wait for the whole album to release February!!! I'll go see this group everytime they come near me.

Saw them last night and they were amazing. Between songs he was flipping the new guitarist (chris) some shit. He was with Megadeth previously. He said in between shows they keep him locked up in a cage and that it's ok to come by and feed him, but to not feed him after midnight. Said he might turn in to Dave. It was hilarious. He immediately asked everyone to delete that off their phones.

In the interview with Björn, did you ask about him The Halo Effect? I wonder what's his take on the band. Anders wasn't too impressed about it.

The problem with metal bands today is that they forget that we as fans are also consumers we have a right to say when we don't like something & that we don't want to consume your product unless you produce something worth our hard earned money. Instead what you get is bands that shit allover the fans because they don't like the direction that they're going in & the worst part is that they will convince other fans that what they're putting out is actually good and deserving of their applause & those fans will shit on the other fans that don't like it. The metal community has become more and more divided which is the opposite of what it was supposed to be back in the 70s & 80s.

I love both era of in flames, more old of course but i love new era too, just different, depends on my mood. Overall one of my best band ever. And about the famous conspiracy of halo effect, i find it a little bit suspicious that they return to old sound just when a competitor comes out. Too much of a coincidence if you ask me.
@christophersanzo18332 жыл бұрын
You realize the album was written before the halo effect came out with anything?? And you do realize this whole pandemic/Putin bullshit really affected the band?? Stop trying to create drama, I doubt Anders and Bjorn care at all about that band 🤷♂️

I loved these 3 songs. I loved this band all the way up to Siren Charms. Yeah Siren Charms may have been pretty light, but i still loved the power from the album. But then Battles came out. That album is easily one of the worst albums they ever released. Overproduced and there was no power in the songs. I, the mask was a step in the right direction. It had a little bit better production, but some songs still feel like they were b side battles *cough* this is our house. Fast forward to this album. All three songs have been fantastic. Easily some of the best songs they’ve released since Come Clarity. I preordered the album, but I’m optimistically cautious. I just hope there isn’t a b side that isn’t hiding behind these songs.
@toxsin22072 жыл бұрын
While I will agree that the 3 new songs sound promising I will withhold expectations until the album comes out. In Flames has a long track record to release a couple of good songs and then the rest of the album will put you to sleep. They have a lot to make up for as in my opinion the last overall great album they put out was Come Clarity. In Flames are a prime example of a band that tries so hard to make it in the mainstream market by going artistic and they fail miserably because they wind up alienating the fans that love what made them good & that is the speed, aggression and melodies.
@litleboy11912 жыл бұрын
with these new songs i realised the sound i used to love from in flames it was all Jesper, i dont dislike this new songs but for me they lack that something that made in flames special, it sound kind of generic for me

The song lacks a dynamism, it's very predictable and straight forward. Honestly, it feels very safe and (dare I say it) boring. Is it heavy? Yes. Is it consistent? Yes. But it's a very '55555663366655557777766666555556666777775555' instead of some more dynamic songs where they're more '334443335555588885553338888449999555566633'. At best, this track would go well between a really heavy and a really soft track. At worst, this track is plodding and monotonous. Why do that acoustic part? To break up the monotony? They've done better songs, and I hope for better than this.
