Thanks. It is really helpful. Is there a way to EQ and blend a deep/heavy/bassy male vocal with an acoustic guitar? Both have fundamentals around 200hz. A cut is making either the vocal or the acoustic guitar thin.

Sir, you said not to tweak the faders for gain staging, but you did the same with your faders, also you tweaked the pre-amp on your AI but what should we do??
@MixWithVasudev4 жыл бұрын
Use a “gain” plugin for that. There’s a free VST called “GGain”. Cheers!

@futurestradingguidance43354 жыл бұрын
You are creating confusion, in your gain staging video you said that never adjust your volume by faders, use a gain plugin on mixer channel, and set gain accordingly, but now here 3:48 you are using fader to reduce the volume. Now which point is correct?
@MixWithVasudev4 жыл бұрын
There’s a simple difference between using the two. Here I don’t want to change the texture of the audio but just want to reduce the level. When we are altering the gain, the texture also changes which is usually done when you haven’t recorded properly. Hope it helps :)
@futurestradingguidance43354 жыл бұрын
@@MixWithVasudev thank you sir, one more thing, I am using 2 utility gain plugin on every channel of my mixer , one in starting chain of individual track and one in the last of every channel in mixer, and I am adjusting gain from these 2 gains plugins, and I am using it on every channel on my mixer, suppose we have 10 tracks toatl, so iam using 20 utility gain plugins, I never touch my faders on mixer, so will it correct? What you say about this? Should I control gain fr first gain plugin on mixer chain, or should I control gain from last gain plugin of individual channel on mixer?
@MixWithVasudev4 жыл бұрын
You should just control it before the processing, because after the processing you already achieved the texture that you want to. Avoid using the gain plugin in between or after processing. Cheers!

Hi Vasudev... I have some questions... Suppose I have a ready backing track mixed and mastered, basically a piano backing track mixed with snares and hats, So since it was hitting -0dB, I reduced it to -10, just to make some headroom and now it is like somewhere between -12 and -10 dB in the meter. Now I am about to record vocals on the track and as you said the input recording should not hit above -10 dB so I will follow that. But what next? What will happen if my vocals sound too high in comparison to the backing track since I am not changing or using any effects in the backing track as it is already mixed well. I have just lowered the gain as it was distorting. I want something very loud and clear as I mostly make cover songs but within the sweet spot. I have watched your mixing to mastering series but need more help. Also, I use Adobe Audition for all my editing work but Is there something better that I can use in windows. I have been using Adobe Auditions for more than 4 years now with all those fabfilter and waves plugins...
