I’m so happy to hear that. Yes, please speak up. The mortality rate among black women in America is way too high. We tend to get brushed off and ignored with our concerns and questions. As a woman, you have natural instincts about things. If it don’t sit right in your spirit, say no, & mean it. They can’t force you to do anything. They just won’t tell you that upfront. You’ll know once you see how they back down after you use a sure tone. If they brush you off, ask for a copy of their decline to treat or not treat you, in writing. That way if anything happens to you as a result of their negligence you or your family can peruse a lawsuit.

My first son was 35 weeks when I went into labor. They gave me the same stuff and I felt like I was having a seizure I was shaking so bad. After the first dose I was done. You definitely have to be your own advocate. They get paid more the more they do and drugs they give. You know your body best. With my second son they told me I had to have a c section because my son was going into distress. My faith was strong and I said no after two nurses and a doctor told me my son could die if I didn't. I ended up pushing him out mins later and having 3 pregnancies with vaginal births after that. Unfortunately with most hospitals they see funds over health and whats best for you and the baby. Stay strong and stick with your guns. You know whats best for YOU.

This was such a joy to watch😌! I’m a doula and I make motherhood content as well. Currently 35 weeks with my 4th 🤰🏿, and this will be my third VBAC🙏🏿! So proud of you for knowing your facts and advocating for yourself. I remind my clients of that ALL the time, “Your body, YOUR birth!” And they have the right to refuse anything. Congratulations 🎊I thought you had given birth on my birthday. I had both my babies naturally. I wouldn't trade that for a C section a day in my life. No, I have never had a C-section but I had some ovarian cysts removed. Because of their size I had to be cut vertically, no small bikini cut. Recovery for me was hell and that was close enough to a C-section for me. So proud of you!!! Stay strong! #Teamnatural

Good for you for standing up for yourself and sticking to your desires. I didn’t know I could refuse things during labor and delivery as well so my 2st labor and delivery was horrible. 2nd was better but I still had to “fight” with my OB (he was an Angel during my pregnancy and switched it up at the hospital). Yes I knew them doctors was corrupt when I was pushing my daughter out and I felt the need to turn over on all fours and push and they automatically grab me repeatedly saying “ no no no no no” I was just looking at them like what the heck is wrong with these people that’s what my body is telling me to do. Also my kids aunt I was there for her while she was giving birth and the way this black women rolled her eyes because my kids aunt was screaming. 🤦🏽‍♀️ never trust these people they are brainwashed to be insensitive and follows a man’s perspective of how birth should be.

Girl, you are doing so good and I’m SO GLAD you had those nurses to stop with the injecting. #SoIgnorantOfThem. I’m a caretaker for my mom and dad and I noticed when they THINK mom or dad has entered into ER alone they are ready to give some type of injection and I pop in on them letting them know BEFORE any meds are given to let ME know what they are giving them. Seems like hospitals are quick to wanna give an elderly a injection or someone in pain an injection just to shut them up. IDK, I could be wrong, but it makes me so angry that they are like this. Lol I don’t blame you. Stick to what you feel is best for you. I have family members who love csections. No pain during, but it’s the after pain I can’t handle lol. The scary thing about natural birth is the length is unpredictable. Pain could last for days or just a few hours. Most are afraid of that, but I like that the pain disappears after you push the baby out. I was just in too much pain after my surgery. It was so hard on me. 😭 I’m hoping for both of us a speedy recovery no matter how we deliver. Please keep me posted on you and your little one.❤️❤️❤️
