Do not be colonized with this way back thinking. If you're in Christ you're free from your tribe. You're under Christ. Just take that for information of how things were done in the past. If you're Christian get people who are mature in the faith to help you study and see the best way to go about this. As an SDA I think I heard a lot of stuff which doesn't make sense. Christianity doesn't promote immorality and it is against divorce too. All he is explaining here in complex Kisii words is simply what they did when divorce happened in the community. You shouldn't marry someone else if you messed (messing means adultery) the union till the other party marries. You're free to marry another person when the other party dies if you messed the union. If you were messed in the relationship, you can ask for a divorce and marry someone else if that's your decision. However Christian patience and forgiveness is highly encouraged on your part so that you can save your partner if possible. In the event you can't bear it is not sin to get of that union and marry someone else. The church can advice you better. Separation is highly encouraged if you're being abused in your union but not a divorce. The spirits of the dead don't exist as the Bible teaches. There is no curse for someone to make the mistakes highlighted. When we die the Bible teaches that the dead have nothing to do with what is happening at the surface of the earth. It is good to remind you that prior to Christianity coming the tribe had order. People sat down centuries ago and decided this is the way we will do things as Kisiis. Each tribe has their way of doing things. We are not doomed to be Kisiis. It doesn't make sense that curses will happen to someone in Kisii for doing that and it won't happen for someone else in another place. Unless you believe there are more than one forces acting in humanity. Kisii understanding of our existence has no bearing or benefit or hope. It is shallow about our afterlife. It gives no hope. It is time to rethink how to define yourself and what you're. Are you a Kisii or a child of God. Adventism is not far from other Christian sects in this matter but I hope they will help you too.
