marco brenni You are apparently not all that familiar with 18th Century operas...or *any* opera, in fact, or you could hardly compare Il Volo's genre with it. "Fake"??? These young men's voices are as authentic as you'll find. They all have perfect pitch and exquisite voices, individually and collectively. They require no technical augmentation...no studio tweaking. And in terms of the genuineness of their kind and loving nature, charm and personalities, trust me, they are the real deal! Thankfully, Italia is finally realizing what so much of the rest of world has been enjoying for years, now. Both the EP "Sanremo Grande Amore" and the single released from it, "Grande Amore," are topping the charts! That's neither "kitsch" nor "fake."

Beverly Olson I know operas more than you think. The style of Volo is like the Belcanto of italian operas after Bellini . We'll see how long time they'll last on stage being fake, say: trying to compose and sing like their ancestors. Kitsch has never lasting succes. Fortunately

Il Volo represents the very best in music in the past 50 years and will continue to be successful for the foreseeable future or as long as they choose to sing. There will always be detractors because there are tortured souls who seek to diminish the the beautiful gifts of others hoping to disguise their own massive inadequacies. They alway fail and expose themselves for the moral and mental failures that they are. Viva Il Volo..the richly talented Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca!

Their concerts are always sold out....So they are doing incredibly well in USA, Italy (sold out too), Europe, and Latin America....In fact they are celebrating 10 successful years of their careers which they started at the ages of 14 and 15. Also to call singers with actual vocal talents "fake" is just biased opinion. Whether you like their operatic pop genre or not....you can admit that their vocals are spectacular if you were actually fair and honest. But of course, jealousy against successful young men will always exist. Especially since their success started when they were teens....

What seems me fake is the outdated style adopted by not professionals of the opera, but by 4 young men who have found a new gap in the music market to fill and to make a lot of money: That of the elder generation which grows more and more in quantitity and also in financial power. A Promised Land for them!

@@marcob4630 Actually, it's 3 young men. Also, they always say that they don't have enough professional training to do pure opera. They aren't performing in official opera halls. Their genre is a mixture of pop and classical music. They aren't pretending to be experts. Also, their official vocal extensions are 2 tenors and 1 baritone. They aren't some inexperienced fake singers. They actually do have official vocal extensions fitting tenors and baritones. They are doing what they love which is singing. It's their passion. Just like the rest of the singers in this world. Do you also dislike all the other singers because they are making money by doing something they love and good at? How about basketball players who get paid MILLIONS of dollars for playing a sport they love? What about baseball and football players? If a human being can do what they LOVE and get paid for it, why not? Also, I'm not the one checking video clips of singers that I dislike because they are making money....

@@greenleo111 : Ok, ok, take it easy. It's only my opinion and taste. I do love classical music, but I'm not so enthusiastic of opera (or opera-like music) as I was before. These extreme feelings and cryed-out emotions are totally out of our time. Far gone Italian Romanticism brought us to opera, but it was a totally different epoch. Bach, Mozart or Beethoven are eternal, however it's not the same for opera (in my opinion)

Marco Brenni, what is your specific problem about IL VOLO. You are trying to compare apples to oranges, baroque to bel canto/pop lyric. You complain about them but with no specifics. IL VOLO has opened a whole new arena of music to me and millions, Italian and Spanish music. It is beautiful music. Oh, you need to learn how to spell.

marco brenni, you are right, no one can guarantee that Il Volo will remain in the music history or that they will make an impact the way big musicians and singers did in the past. But you know what? I think if the young generation listened to their music instead of the crap they listen to nowadays, the world would be different. And you said that the "fake" in on the top of the entertainment world, don't be so quick to compare Il Volo to what is trending and entertaining these days. I think that as long as they promote good music, even if they might be copying (which I don't agree with anyway) some other singers, they are doing a good thing.I think that any way through which the young generation is being introduced to this kind of music is a good way.
