This was the first time Alter Bridge played "In Loving Memory" live. It took Mark 4-5 years before he could perform this song live as it was too emotional for him. As you can see at the 8:47 mark of your video, Myles turns toward Mark singing and Mark almost breaks down. Myles sees this and asks the crowd to sing which immediately startles Mark back into gear. Very emotional moment for him. And to be honest, for me too.

THANK YOU! Oh my god, I have watched about 20 reactions to this video and you guys are the FIRST TWO to actually react. How a person can watch this video and not react emotionally to it is beyond me. It was refreshing to watch you two have an emotional reaction to the crowd, to the power of the performance. Thank you.

I know this reaction is 2 years old but I just found this and this song means lots to me and my oldest so he is 33 and I’m 64 but I lost my mom and best friend 6 years ago and my son found this song because he has always been a alter bridge fan and I am too now and love Myles Kennedy voice he is so talented he also sings with Slash and I was able to see them live but my mom had Alzheimer’s and lived with me and in the beginning she wanted me to put her in a nursing home but I didn’t she was by my side my whole life good times and bad times and helped me raise my boys after I got custody of them in a divorce to me she deserved more love and respect than being put in a home and I stayed with her till she took her last breath nothing about me but all about her and my love and I also lost my youngest son in 2020 and this song once more touched me

As well as the studio version of "Wonderful Life". I say the studio version because Myles never sings the last four lines of the song when it's performed live. I don't know if the words are just too powerful for Myles, but it is *NEVER* complete when live.

Sorry about your loss! My mom passed in 2011from lung cancer and I have a son that's 12 so we have a few things in common. For me letting myself feel the pain and allowing myself to cry gave me a chance to let it all out and to also acknowledge the blessings around me. I had to break that barrier that I put up to protect myself and change my perspective to continue to see beauty in this world. I'm also close to your age, I'm 41. Just had a birthday on Dec. 30th of last year. God bless you. My heart goes out to you.🙏❤

I can’t get through that song without crying since I lost my mother on June 30th 2016. She was 62 years old. She made me a better man and loved life so much. It’s heartbreaking to lose the ones you love the most and it brings me great comfort knowing that this amazing song is being recognized by so many other people that have felt and continue to feel the pain we all share. Thank you so much for your reaction to it and my love and respect goes out to everyone that appreciates this. #painintheask now let’s get some Sylosis - Altered states Of Conciousness and Battlecross - Man Of Stone to get back to some ass kicking thrash metal

Rich your amazing! I can tell how much you love Kel and I see only strength in you! I can't imagine losing my son you guys are my heroes. Anyone that comes at Rich and Kel harshly you are dealing with me too! I understand what crying after holding everything in feels like. When I was separating from my ex I tried to do the right thing and let her see our son as much as possible. I put my trust in her and one day when little Ken was visiting her at her place with her new man she decided to up and take my son to Florida out of nowhere without telling me what she was doing. At the time I lived in Indianapolis In. and I had no transportation or anyone in my life at the time that could help me. Plus we had joint custody so there was really nothing I could do about it, I tried. When this happened my Mom was in a nursing home actively dying from cancer. When I would go to see her she would ask to see my son and I had to tell her that my ex took him. That was one of the hardest times to get through for me because I lived alone didn't have any friends at the time by choice because I had trust and abandonment issue's from earlier situations in my life so it was just me, my tears and anxiety from hell. My son is like a part of my heart and not having him with me when my mom passed hurt so bad I thought I was literally going to die. I wasn't suicidal but it felt like my ex literally tore a hole in my heart where my son used to be connected and by my side. Many prayers and sleepless nights later I had a chance to take her to court and fight for custody of little Ken. I thank God everyday that I found the strength to pull myself up and fight. I did everything that I was instructed to do by the courts and then some with a renowned since of strength I prevailed and received full custody of my boy! During the time my mom was getting ready to leave this world and I was alone without my pride, joy and main purpose in this life the tears I held back for so many years came and they burned! After awhile like Kel said they stopped burning. When I got my son back through the courts I was so happy that my prayers where answered and that my hope was not in vain that I experienced tears of joy. When I think of my mother I think of her watching over us, no longer in pain and smiling down. Seeing her that way and feeling her presence gives me strength to know love is eternal and cannot be taken, it just transcends our reality. When I get chills listening to music or when I allow myself to be a strong man and let some tears surface I know she's with me and I can feel that love return. God bless you guys! Remember I'm here for you and I will stand up for you and keep people in line because negativity has no place in our domain of joy and peace in our metal land utopia!!! Love you guys!❤

Thank you guys. Glad you reacted to this... I've watched the video numerous times. Has that special meaning. In 2005 I quit my job to stay home and take care of my mother whose mind was sharp but she was physically unable to do the most basic of things. Over the next 3 1/2 years I cooked for her, fed her, cleaned and changed her, got up at night every 2 hours to check her vitals... but we also laughed together, cried together, shared stories, listened to all genres of music... we became best friends. She passed away in July 2009 at the age of 89. It was tough and music helped in the healing. In October, 2009, I stood at the top of Eagle Falls above Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. I waited, and when the sun rose over the distant peak and the first rays of light hit the falls, giving them a golden hue, I scattered her ashes over the falls. So thanks again for this

WOOHOO!!!!!! You tell em Rich!! People are going to hate and try to make others cry by hurting them but it's how we respond that shows our character and our toughness. The people who are purposely badmouthing and bullying you only shows how weak and pathetic they are. It doesn't show their "manliness" by any means, it only shows just how foolish and jealous they are because they don't have real love in their life. They see you two who obviously love and care for one another in an open setting like this and it makes them uncomfortable so the only way to erase that feeling is by attacking you. It makes them feel powerful when in reality it's showing the rest of the world the opposite. Don't let them get you down, but from what I'm seeing and hearing from you both in your other videos, you're not letting it! Continue to do what you do! Also, thank you for the reaction to Alter Bridge!! Keep them coming! 🥰 🤟

This is a very special song for me. I was at the funeral of my grandmother, witch a adored so much, and later at the coffee table,we received a phonecall that there was a car accident. A car hit my father and he died a few ours later in the hospital. What made it even harder,it was one of his best friends,(every weekend they played cards), who drove the car. So,i know what it's like to lose someone special. I thank Mark Tremonti for writing this fantastic song,it makes me cope in daily life.

Your words are so true! I am Portugese, living in Holland. Crying in Holland is not really done. It is seen as weakness. In Portugal emotions are very normal and people are not ashamed. Men cry when they feel sad or emotional and to me THAT is strength and being human. We are not robots, we feel, we hurt, we love, we have happy moments, that can also make you cry. I feel safer with a man where I can be myself and emotional and he gets me and can cry to. They are not the pussies...they are the real men. I think al of us suffered losses. You can also see that in the crowd. Alter Bridge writes songs about human feelings and phases in life. Not all sad thank God, but I am happy to have their songs. They help me grieve and honor my dear young friend and my father. Music brings us together. If people feel the need to ridicule that, they haven't seen life yet and are very immature. Ban them and don't let them get to you. Love

Love and respect! As for Alter Bridge, they are the greatest! They have a true gift from God and they respect that and they work so hard to make the most of their gift to benefit them, their friends and family and their fans. Mark Tremonti (Creed/Alter Brudge) has a band called Tremonti and after EVERY show they stay and sign merch you buy. I stood twice for over an hour to get signings. #painintheask King Diamond - ”Abigail” [album]. This one is most likely the first horror metal concept album, released in 1987. Most of the storyline was written during an unusually violent thunderstorm. The vocalist, King Diamond (Kim Bendix Petersen), is known for his extensive vocal range, in particular his usage of falsetto. He is 62, has gone through triple bypass heart surgery and is still going strong. I’d love to hear and see your reaction to this masterpiece. Much love, keep up the good work.

Awesome reaction. If you ever go see them live, learn the lyrics, you can sing along with it all. If you want to check out more by AB, I highly suggest "Cry of Achilles", "Words Darker than their Wings (live at the "Royal Albert Hall), "White Knuckles" (Amsterdam live) for some hard stuff and "Watch over you".

If you get a chance, check out a band called Red, they have a lot of great music. There's also a smaller but really talented band called Brighter Than A Thousand Suns that has a bunch of good songs too.

Hey Kel and Rich love your videos. Glad to see how much blackbird touched you two. Every time I hear it I get goosebumps. Two songs you should react to if not already are broken wings and wayward one by alter bridge. Wayward one in my opinion sounds very similar to blackbird. The meaning however is different but can’t quite figure out what it’s saying, help me understand if you figure it out Thanks keep up the videos

It's very difficult as you guys basically started with the very best, deepest shit EVER! But along the same lines, yes like other guys have suggested 'Words Darker' by AB, 'Watch Over You' by AB, Shadow on the Sun by Audioslave (but you probably already know that)- maybe a good one would be Thrice - Hurricane, Myles Kennedy (solo) Love Can Only Heal and Tremonti (solo) - The Things I've Seen ---- please

Glad you got to do this one, again such an honest real reaction to an incredible song. As others have said Words Darker Than Their Wings by Alter Brkdge should be on your list. You should also check out their heavier side with songs like Metalingus, White Knuckle or Addicted to Pain.

The lead singer Myles Kennedy has a solo album. It’s called Year of the tiger. It’s about dealing with the loss of his father at an early age.

Rich I agree with you totally, I consider giving your woman space and respecting her emotions as a true ALPHA MALE quality. Those who are bit*hing about it for some odd reason are just insecure lil betas, nothing more. Appreciate you guys' honesty and transparency!

I hope you don't think that Alter Bridge has only sad songs! Please react to Words Darker Than Their Wings live in Royal Albert Hall, it's a song of hope and it's perfect... #painintheask

That was fast. It didn't take very long for you guys to come back to Alter Bridge. Trust me, most of their songs are great but not all of them are tearjerkers. They just write with a lot of heart, soul and emotion. Mark Tremonti the guitar who wrote this song also has his own band called Tremonti and they are worth checking out also. I can't really decide on any particular song to listen to but the last song I listened to was Bringer of War so that is as good as any to check out if you want. #painintheask Tremonti - Bringer of War
