Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

I will be 70 yrs old in a few months (how did THAT happen??) and so I have had many canine Angel partners in my life.....all of them rescued. When I have a dog who is getting ready to pass away/transition....of course I make them as comfortable as possible and give them tons of of love...and since I believe they do have a new life when they are gone, I imagine them running, wagging, playing with a HAPPY PACK again,,,,in a beautiful place of so much fun! Lee's Asher House strikes me as pretty darn close to heaven on earth for dogs!!! Bless him and thank heaven for these wonderful Angel friends who make such a wonderful difference in our lives!

My 14 year old baby girl , benji type dog, passed at the end of April. A tooth infection ate through the nasal cavity and inspite of antibiotics, she bled too much. I called the vet in this small city and they dont do emergency calls. Said to take her to next city 100 miles away. He said bring her in the next morning...her breathing was rapid and she had a seizure or heart attack earlier and never came out of it. At 3 am, I picked her up and laid her by my side in bed and her heart shook and vibrated for 30 seconds and then all was quiet. Her ashes are near me every night and I tell her how much I love her.

In the last 50 years, I only managed to live 4 months without a dog. It was a very empty four months and all I thought about was "It hurts so much when you lose them" versus "It is so lonely without one." And finally I saw an ad in the paper with pekingese puppies for sale. My life changed back to being happy overnight and I swore I would never be without one. Now I have four. It's a circus at times, but I love it. I couldn't take care of big dogs like these, but I admire this man so much for doing this. It is God's work. Even if he is enjoying doing it. He will have a bunch of crowns in Heaven for it!

Lee, I'm pretty sure it is not the first time people tell you what a beautiful energy you radiate! But it's so true. I follow a lot of dog channels on YT, but yours is a totally different story. There is a soulful, joyful, and loving presence in everything that you do. I am a dog lover too. I fostered dogs, loved and cared for them almost all my life. Saying goodbye never became easier over the years. It is something we learn to do: being here, accompanying those gentle souls to the point we can no longer be with them, accepting the pain, the sorrow, the absence and being THANKFUL for everything we learn along the way. You are an inspiration for all of us Lee! Thank you so much for being, loving, caring, and sharing with us all the LOVE. God bless you and you wonderful pack.

There is no place better for an elderly dog to end up than with you guys! I'm sure those 9 months were the best she'd ever experienced, and you always make sure that's the case. As I've gotten older, I've also started to "foster" (heh - they're not going anywhere, and I know it) elderly dogs - especially those with physical problems aside from just getting older. I can't handle as many as you do (I'm on my 5th), and do it right, but I feel at least these dogs, often neglected and dumped, know that being with humans can be a very good experience. If some never knew a good day with a human, I'm here to prove that having good days is how it's supposed to be. Last week we had to put down our elderly cat, Dexter. I'm always sad when it's time to go, but I also "get" what you're saying - there really is a "time" to let go, and we might not understand it, but we all move along to whatever's next. He was a great cat who loved people - just about the only cat that came to greet visitors instead of hiding under the bed. :) In fact, I''m more likely to hide under the bed when people show up than he was - lol. Thanks again for all you do at Asher House!

He''ll be 12 in October so I don't know much time I have left with him because, 1. I'll have to move soon, and I don't know if I'll be able to take him with me, and 2, if I can, I don't know how many years he has left. Right now he's healthy, active. and not showing is age too much. Thanks for reminding me of the importance to cherish our loved with they are with us. Bless you for taking in animals that others cannot, or won't take in, and showing them love they need so much for the time they have remaining.

@@exquisitesplendor7175 Please don't move where your cat isn't allowed. I never understand how people can do that. :( BTW, in the year that I posted that commented, I'm down to 2 dogs - one is 7 and has a very sensitive stomach (owners gave up on this lovely Pit/Rottie mix), and other is 13 and still acts like a puppy.

I fell in love with her when I saw her which was just today! I was so glad when you adopted them!! There are so many wonderful dogs out there! Thank you for giving her such a loving home to end her days. Our current dog is adopted & we have always adopted older dogs & I can say they are so loving & giving & we have NEVER had a dog that did not become family. I hope more people open their homes to the older dogs & mixed breeds as well as readily as they do for purebreds! All our adoptees have been a blessing to us!!

Hi Lee, I don't know if you will ever read this being as this video is two years old but I have a story to share with you. What you have said in this video deeply resonated with me. This is quite a long story but I will try to keep it as short as I can. Seven years ago I lost my Husband. We had two dogs at the time, named Duke and Max. Just a few days after my Husband's funeral, Duke decided to go to be with my Husband. Max was my support for 12 months of my grieving period and then he decided it was time that he joined my Husband and Duke. After that I didn't have another dog for 6 years. I was grieving for my Husband and my dogs and I barely knew how to look after myself let alone another dog. But then, something happened. The 'Universe' as you say, decided that it was time! I got myself a job and one of my colleagues was a dog walker/groomer. One day I received a message from my colleague and along with the message she sent me a photo of a dog. She told me that this dog was available for rehome and as she put it, "I thought of you!". When I saw the dog, I cried. I knew that she was meant for me! Her name is Molly and she is a Cocker Spaniel. I became her third owner at just 6 years old. Molly came to me with issues! Afraid of men. I had learned her first owner was a man. Molly has been with me for 18 months and the bond we have now is just incredible! As I type this, Molly is to the left of me on the sofa and laying her head on my lap. Molly now has a Sister, called Ruby who is also a Cocker and was also a rehome and also came to me with issues. As I type this, Ruby is sat on the sofa to the right of me snoring haha! When I had Duke and Max we used to walk in a local park and I got to know a lot of the local dog walkers. After I lost both, I lost contact with the friendships I had made but because of Molly and Ruby, old friendships have been renewed, and new friendships have been made. So much so that now we have our own WhatsApp Group and there are many of us! We all meet up regularly in our local park and both dogs and humans enjoy socialising together. I would love to send you a video if I could. Our world would be so much more the worse without our fur babies. LOVED your video and also understand the grief of them passing. Much love to you and yours.

Lee, This personifies you . It occurs to me That every dog I lose takes a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog that enters my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. And if I live long enough all of the components of my heart will be dog and I will become as generous and loving as they are By Anonymous. Lee , I think you’ve attained dog status. My condolences on Ce Ce, she was your girl and and such a lovely lady. Bless her soul

Beautiful CeCe with the soulful eyes is with her Creator right now. I am crying a boatload of tears right now. I have an 11 year old Pomeranian, Honey, who’ve I had since 8 weeks. She is struggling with collapsing trachea. Within last week it’s gotten really bad. You said something that made me think am I being selfish, not wanting her to leave me? Ive taken her to so many doctors. Everyday I give her different meds. I’m here in this hot weather here in California with a Humidifier in the hopes that it helps her breathe. I guess I need to let her know it’s ok to go instead of clinging to her so tightly. Thank you sweet and kind young man with a tender heart. One last thing I promise. I have an empty frame that I bought years ago. It says “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure”.

It's her time. We humans are very selfish and want them around as long as possible. If she's in pain and struggling, you need to let her go😢

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I have a 10.5 yr old pomchi with cushings, and she also started with the collapsing trachea in Jan this year. It scared the living heck out of me. She would sound like she was gagging/choking for minutes at a time. I panicked when she went for almost 20min one day and rushed her to the emergency vet. They said there was nothing to do. I looked online for hours and found a "tincture"? I think thats what it would be called im not 100% positive. It was on amazon called "throat gold". Within 2 weeks she stopped coughing/gagging/honking. Now she might do it for 5 seconds only when she gets super excited! I'm aware what works for one may not work for everyone. But I believe if your dog is still happy and loving life then its worth trying anything. Whether you had to make that hard decision to let go, or hold on, only you and your fur bb will know the right choice 💜💜💜💜💜
