It is not possible to estimate the value of Mors' teaching through his videos, books and articles. He embodied what it was to be a great teacher. His style was authoritative without being arrogant or overbearing. He spared nothing when it came to details, and thus never glossed over something in order to make the video slicker or more polished. His curiosity and willingness to teach and learn new ways of doing something was never ending. He would as readily recommend a $12 Mora as he would a $200 Skookum, or a coffee can with a wire handle as he would a high end steel pot. In other words: he looked out for everybody. Like all of the great ones, he will never be replaced. Thankfully, he left us a huge legacy behind in terms of instruction. God bless you Mors; may you forever enjoy the great Boreal wilderness in the next life!

One of the wisest, well spoken, concise, and knowledgeable people in the bushcraft community. Losing Mors is like losing a grandfather, calmly passing down his infinite knowledge accumulated over a lifetime to those who would sit and listen. He's left behind a legacy that spans not only his lifetime, but the lifetimes of all he has taught and those who will learn from his students. To me, he was one of the brightest sparks in this community, and there's no other mentor like Mr. Mors Kochanski. This man is kept alive by the techniques that he has passed down, and that is something intangible and legendary. Rest in peace, Mors Kochanski. Thank you for taking the time to share what you know to all who could benefit.

He's taken his place in history as one of the 'greats' of bushcraft wilderness living instructors. Having never met this man and only seeing a few videos of him, I can still say that his passion, knowledge, and skill attained over a life time is huge and is now lost . Fortunately all of this was either passed on or preserved for eternity, where he now resides. Many think that his knowledge is little more than a useless hobby, how wrong they all are. It is because of knowledge and skills like his we all were able to advance to what we are today, and would not have done so otherwise. The world has lost a giant of a man, thankfully we have a few others to carry on in his stead. May God grant him the rest and peace he has so justly earned.
