In Memoriam : DANIELA DESSI - Verdi Requiem finale - Requiem aeternam Libera me

One of the greatest opera Divas ever passed on yesterday, about 45 minutes to midnight, Aug. 20th 2016. With Daniela Dessi's death whole world of Bel Canto remained covered with dark veil. Her death was sudden, and shock to all of us who were her friends, colleagues, relatives, admirers. She is singing with angels now. Here, 1987, Scala in Berlin.

What a sad piece of news. I just realized she passed away. She was such an amazing performer, singer and human being. She must have joined the wonderful voices of the past in heaven. I can imagine the marvelous choir she must belong to now. At least her suffering was brief although we know very little of how long she knew about the malady that was killing her silently. Blessings to her wherever she may be, to her family and her fans who miss her! her family

And please : stop comparing the DIVINA CALLAS with all Sopranos - furthermore DESSÌ never sung CALLAS REPERTOIRE , ‘cause DESSÌ had no the same enormious Power to perform demanding Roles like MEDEA, NORMA, GIOCONDA, LUCIA, TRAVIATA and so on and , as a matter of fact, DESSÌ NEVER DID IT , because she was aware of her own Instrument .
