While in college in the 60s I wrote coach Carnesecca and asked him about his recruiting strategies. He didn't know me from Adam, but he personally wrote me back. It's a letter I'll treasure until I take my own walk off the planet.

He had a very similar lifespan to Betty White (January 17, 1922 - December 31, 2021) and Charlie Munger (January 1, 1924 - November 28, 2023). I will not be surprised if W. Michael Blumenthal (born January 3, 1926) and Yury Grigorovich (born January 2, 1927) pass away at the age of 99 in November-December 2025 and November-December 2026 respectively shortly before turning 100 as well.
