When my my husband was alive he too believed the same as the couple in this video. I disagreed with him at times but now that I’m a widowed with two adult sons, I’m in the same situation as the couple. My husband was correct, so did the couple. Don’t give any means of your assets to your children while alive. Lesson learned by many.

My wife? Died....just me. My children eroded my savings ...with world ending disasters after another..... after a while a sister visited children's home at the wrong time. Then told me how well there are doing....shame on me..I never saw a dime. .. I faked a disaster needed money.......all ways...we are broke. Can't help. They started.. nibbling with we are starving ploys.. then one day I closed the bank of dad....then they went into a tail spin...I heare little from them now. ..I figure if they don't learn to take care of problems now. I'm not feeding my children at 50-60 yrs old at my 80s.. not me. Teach them to solve theer problems early. You will never be in this fix😊😊

Children and grandchildren should not feel entitled to the money from there parents. If parents , Grandparents give them is voluntary .Not an obligation Their older age need the saving to take care of themselves .kids should be grateful that is a load off their hands. Give Them love n respect for what They are your Parents,Grandparents. One day we all be in the same situation Old. Please Think and be kind.✨🙏🏻✨

Wow, the children of Mr & Mrs Lu are heartless. I suggest they remove the children from their wills and donate the money to charity when they pass away. What is happening to Chinese filial piety?

It's happening all over the world. Children today don't give a damn for their parents. Materialism has made them inhumane.
@mineandmine45286 ай бұрын
The children that are described here are ones that parents spoiled. They only had two. But when there are multiple children, only one or two get spoiled this way and other kids are left with nothing. The kids that got nothing are the ones that end up taking care of the parents at old age and usually have a lot of resentments towards the parents.

I believe that whatever our decisions and actions are one should not go to the extreme. The childrens are still ours. You hurt the childrens more if you excluded them from your will. We just want to leave peacefully. I understand at times it's difficult to decides.
@mineandmine45285 ай бұрын
@jefftan4052, With all due respect, I don’t understand how someone wants to leave peacefully knowing they caused chaos and hurt their own children. If for some reason the parents exclude their children, at least tell the excluded children up front.

My parents provided care and education until my graduation. After that I have to work my way up. My husband and I plan our retirement since our marriage, we are living happily without anyone’s help. Therefore I won’t extend excessive help to my children after grooming them to be independent.

What a great video! Very sad story for those parents who gave so much and only received indifference in the end. If you don't suffer consequences, you do not learn, grow, mature, and become your best self. Children need to be prepared for the future roles they will play, if not there is certain failure and disappointment. Similarly, parents must financially prepare for disability and old age. But how do you teach the children to love and care for elderly parents in need that have given so much?

I appreciate your perspective! It’s a valuable reminder for retirees to focus on their own well-being and happiness, rather than worrying about leaving a fortune behind. Prioritizing personal enjoyment, while also contributing to charity or helping the community, can be a fulfilling way to spend one’s resources. It's a great way to live in the present, make a positive impact, and ensure that you are using your money in a way that aligns with your values and brings you joy. Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful insight!

We train others how to treat us, never ever let them know your finances. Kids today are taught to be entitled. I would insist on part-time jobs and student loans in university for kids. After graduation, if I see them seriously taking on paying debt with financial rigger, I'd gift them and pay it off so they can go on their new stage of life, clear and free.

Parents must think twice before giving their money to their kids :: be prepared for ur retirement expenses cuz your kids may not be there in your old age ::: prepare for old age expenses so learn to save money for retirement expenses ::

Your advice is practical and wise. Being financially prepared for retirement ensures that you can maintain your independence and security, regardless of circumstances. Saving and planning ahead are key to a comfortable and worry-free old age. It’s always better to be cautious and take care of yourself first.

This kind of behavior has been going on for ever according to the history books I have read. My sons will get only cold money (when we are dead) verses warm money (while we are alive). Giving them big money while you are alive will only spoil them and make them dependent on you. They will never become independent of you and will ruin their lives. They also don't know how much they will eventually receive so have to plan for their own retirements.

The people you give the most to will be the ones to turn on you and leave you by the side of the road. I lived it. And just turned cold in the last 6 months. That extends to companies and corporations with all kinds of sneaky fee, arbitration clauses and no refund policies to screw you. And everybody wants a tip or donation. All suck and will get NOTHING else,from me.

Your story is so true, but your advice of security guard is worst, it will spoil your old-age peace, worst than your children's torture. The other one is more worst selling vegetables,fruits in front of malls/streets etc, the middle one is ok as per your story, hope they are middle class pair combaindly start assisting same lonely people in the way of moral support, cooking spending time experiencing their own life stories each other's etc ., other wise better job is drive a cab/auto of your own, so that you can yourself be king and servent with full respect and honour. One more true is your story two sons some ones story heard two daughters with the same attitudes so as on today's wathawaran (whatsapp, Facebook, tuter age) male ya female child both are same. Your story is a moral/guidence for retired senior middle class citizens.of the country.🎉
