I'm not claiming to be any expert however a allwheel drive Subaru maybe best on dirt roads or roads with mud or snow the one the Subaru this guy is driving is obviously a 1980's type part time four wheel drive the sort that looks like a family car and well drives like one.Where as a Toyota land cruiser or any other proper off road vehicle like the one owned by the guys in front of the Subaru driver who guided him through the rocks meaning a proper four wheel drive vehicle with a proper low and high range gearing higher ground clearance than a normal car and preferably be separate chassis yes older Subaru's had a sort of low high range gearing but I wouldn't put in the same class as vehicles like a Toyota land cruiser Toyota Hilux old style landrover defender or the American four wheel drives like the Jeep wrangler or Ford Bronco none of the Subaru's or any so called SUV 's are going to match a proper traditional off road four wheel drive in the real rough stuff where this guy took his Subaru anyway if it packed it in he could consider a proper off roader at least that would be the sensible thing to do.

EA82, the 90 horsepower, throttle body injected beast it came with. Nothin' like a turndown in place of the muffler to really give a Subaru a mean sound.
