Love this film. The young people in this are incredibly mature and thoughtful and I congratulate them for this. This is a prime example of how religion has the potential to do huge amounts of harm. Be religious, by all means, but never, ever, use your beliefs to harm others. Embrace the differences...live together. Too many people use religion as a tool for control...they should hang their heads.
@seanoneill84462 жыл бұрын
The issue here was never about religion. It's about self-determination, rather than having all your laws drafted by, and your tax rates set by, a bunch of English politicians who have never stood for election here, let alone received any mandate.
@TheRealist20222 жыл бұрын
@@seanoneill8446 I never said it was ABOUT religion, rather what religion has the potential to do, no matter what else was in the film. For what it is worth, I, as an English man, am profoundly ashamed of the way the Irish people were treated in the 17th century and at other times. That said, I would support a free an open referendum on independence. The people of Ireland deserve to decide for themselves how they are to be governed.

Look I obviously have my own opinions but one of the biggest things that divides us is holidays and festivals. We Catholics can't march without something bad happening yet the protestants (especially in Derry) have 2 separate holidays during which they parade around the city and around catholic areas. This should be taken away. There is still a clear bias towards the Protestants in the North and as long as that stands then there will always be a divide. As George Orwell said in animal farm "all pigs are equal but some are more equal than others".
